Sora writes on his hand. Not just little notes like ‘do this’ but full fledged lists that cover his palm, fingers, wrist, and up his arm like an army of spooker woopers.

It got so bad when he was a kid that he’d walk around in broad daylight with his arms looking like a school supply shopping spree gone wrong, so one day his mom buys him a pair of gloves to get him to stop because ‘it can be toxic, honey’ or something like that.

Whenever he’s nervous, however, he’ll gently take off his glove and start tracing letters on his hands, mundane things like ‘buy blank potions of blank type and give them to blank’ or start writing gibberish in Japanese because he likes certain hirigana. It helps him calm down, especially when he’s out destroying heartless without a pen.

When he was out trying to find Riku or Kairi or the King, he’d borrow a marker or ink or just some kind of non-toxic paint from wherever he can find it and just write their names over and over on his skin, until he can close his eyes and see them clearly.

Sometimes, especially after the Mark of Mastery exam, he’ll even wake up and find his arms and legs and face covered with names and doodles of people he’s sure he’s never met before. Aqua will be written messily on one arm, Terra on the other. Vanitas will be written backwards on his forehead, in the darkest color he has on hand, swirls of messed up ink stained all over his face and fingers. Green marker, highlighter, paint will make star shapes over his heart and legs, until he has to forcibly remove all kinds of materials from his room and resign himself to tracing words so he doesn’t have to shower ever time he wakes up.
