You’re going to be okay. It doesn’t matter how you choose to handle the situation, it doesn’t matter how you choose to forget. It only matters how you’ve chosen to forgive the person. You can’t forget what happened, it’s preferable that you never forget what happened– but you should always try to forgive. Going through life with this built up anger is exhausting, you can only forgive. It’s going to be a journey. It’s going to be a battle. It’s going to be all out warfare. You’re going to be torn. You’re going to feel broken, but if you can’t give yourself the hope of surviving– if you can’t forgive, if you can’t learn to let go. The only thing that’s going to destroy you– it’ll be those thoughts left in your head.

You tried to change didn’t you? closed your mouth more tried to be softer prettier less volatile, less awake but even when sleeping you could feel him travelling away from you in his dreams so what did you want to do, love split his head open? you can’t make homes out of human beings someone should have already told you that and if he wants to leave then let him leave you are terrifying and strange and beautiful something not everyone knows how to love.

I want to apologize to myself for constantly submerging in a state of panic, for allowing myself to self-destruct for so many years. There is a person inside of me who deserves kindness.

Do not bring me to the place where she first kissed you and told you that she loves you back. Do not trace the stars and point to me the image that she taught you before. Do not tell me that my smile is imbued with sparkle and that it is priceless just like what you told her. Do not bring me plethora of roses thinking that I will love it too just like how she did because those were her favorites. Do not lesson me with dulcet words that you learned from her when you were both contemplating about life. Just please, don’t. Don’t call me the way you called her;. Don’t love me the way you loved her before.

Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn’t.

Everything happens for a reason. People change so you can learn to let go. Things go wrong so you can appreciate them when they go right.

If you have been brutally broken, but still have the courage to be gentle to others then you deserve a love deeper than the ocean itself.

At the end of the day, you can either focus on what’s tearing you apart or what’s holding you together.

Sometimes, you go through something and it hurts and you don’t know if things are ever going to be okay again. But then days go by and you don’t feel like crying and you wonder what it means that you’re fine. You think maybe you’re ignoring your emotions and that they’ll come back out of no where. Until you’re driving home from work, singing along to the radio and wondering what you’ll have for dinner, and you realize you’re happy. Maybe that thing didn’t break you because you’re stronger than that. Maybe you can survive anything. Maybe you finally want to.

My father told my brother once “if you want to see a girl become beautiful, break her heart.” At first I was bitter at the thought, but the more and more my heart got broken, I realized how true it was. Because when you break a girls heart, she’ll cut her hair. She’ll focus more on her makeup. She’ll dress in ways that make her happy and she will do anything to get you to notice her. And I know that when you broke my heart, I cut all of my hair off. I cut it how you told me not too. And my eyeliner, you better fucking believe it got better. And I finally started dressing in what made me feel the most confident. So yeah, dad you were right. He broke my heart, and I chose to make myself more beautiful.

When you worry about what other people think of you, you give up the power to enjoy you. Your opinion of yourself is your key to happiness.

Have you ever fallen in love with a movie? An unexpected one, you just sit there and watch it without knowing the story or actors or anything and it turns out so exquisite. It gets stuck in your mind even after it finished. You were just like that to me. Found you so unexpected and now I can’t get you out of my head

you were not perfect. sometimes you were cruel, and yet, I loved you, always.

You and I were probably never meant to be, but I loved every single second that I spent with you. You meant everything to to me, but to you, I was just another queen in the deck of cards.
