Had to arbitrate a tense territorial dispute regarding napping privileges on my lap this morning. Thankfully my diplomatic proposal was adopted.

Btw everyone who gets mad about female separatism and 4b is, at their core, a misogynist.
Think about it. How does female separatism harm anyone? The main idea is women living in female-only communities and not engaging with men. Some villages in places in Africa are already doing it. Realistically, a man would never encounter any problems with a separatist because she wouldn’t want to engage with him anyway.
Even TIMs who argue that the movement excludes them don’t have a rebuttal outside of it “invalidating” them.
Anyone who gets genuinely angry at the idea of women simply choosing to live separate from men is either someone to be laughed at or someone to be feared. A man with no intention of harming women does not get angry at female separatism.
Men getting mad about separatism or just regular cases of women refusing to date men is the same principle of “OK I won’t abuse you but I still want the conditions that abusive men negotiated for me” that makes me not want to date men in the first place.
I remember that back in 2013, our association at the time was working to support women from an ethnic group in the south of Madagascar. According to that community’s traditions, when a woman became a widow, all the property acquired during the marriage, as well as the children, would go to the husband’s family, specifically the in-laws. And often, in order not to starve, the women had no choice but to stay with the in-laws, who kept them as servants… not to say slaves.
To help these women, we built a kind of community space where they could start to recover, both psychologically and financially. We offered them IT and practical training: how to sew, how to make raffia baskets, how to work as secretaries, and for some, even how to read and write. We also taught them about their rights, simply as human beings.
But one day, the local chief — the ampanjaka — came to see us with his wife and nearly the whole village. He told us we were a threat to the peace, saying we were spreading hatred against men (lol).
Since we needed the local council’s approval to carry on with our work, we tried to reassure them. We explained that we weren’t trying to change their traditions, only to help these women survive and rebuild their lives. It was a heated conversation.
Even if it has nothing to do with men, somehow it’s still seen as an attack on them.it’s immediately labelled as “anti-men” or “dangerous.”

“There is ZERO reason for [female-only] spaces to exist.” Okay.
What they meant to say was “there is ZERO reason for female-only spaces to exist that I respect.” There are thousands of reasons for female-only spaces, they just do not respect or value those reasons.
if males aren't any more unsafe than females, then go be with the males. go in the male bathroom and locker room, and the male college dorm. you'll be safe, because amab bodies are not unsafe and you don't have trauma from amab bodies. tell the males in those spaces that they won't be better for excluding minorities.
The males saying this can stay with the males, the females saying this can go with the males. Problem fucking solved, let's move on.
