When we wrote ‘Dry Blood’ it was 2016, and we were working on our album Gunblade Blues volume II. Times were different, we were going a thousand miles an hour with DANTE HH and had many hopes and dreams for the future. We wrote this song thinking about leaving our beloved Bogota, Colombia and moving to the city of Los Angeles, California which we did in 2017. Back then it was a song about leaving an old life behind. As the years and many adventures went by and we found ourselves living a new life , learning to live as immigrants in a new city , a new country that welcomed us warmly we left the song in our vaults: it just wasn’t the right time to release it anymore. A toast for lost loves A toast for old friends In the wake of the covid 19 pandemic, the band’s life changed. The world was put on pause, then reignited in a way but the old ‘normal’ was dead. In the midst of building the ‘new’ normal on the corpse of the old one the lives of the members of the band that came aboard this adventure changed as well. Some remain, some have left, there still is massive love & respect amongst everyone. It seemed fitting, to release a song that gave tribute to that span of 6 years where the band had many adventures in both countries: Colombia and the United States which both have embraced us in different ways. With everything that has happened, the circumstances have added layers to the song and an amazing video directed by Luis Fernando Mora making it a statement about friendship, introspection and life. Dry Blood is then a song about death and rebirth, of winter and spring, a song about change 🩸DRY BLOOD🩸 is out on all platforms, with its video up on our YouTube channel #wearehellhounds🐺🔥🩸 https://www.instagram.com/p/CXMV_8rpKm7/?utm_medium=tumblr
