I will say, I think I’m pretty… “industry standard” for a lot of my position headcanons and my opinions about bedroom roles, so I’ll try and include other stuff to that, to prevent this from being a boring read. Because of that, I didn’t do every single ship I have and just list out sexual positions I see them in, I stuck to the ones that I actually have more complex thoughts about. So, ships mentioned: Daisuga, Ushiten, Iwaoi and Arankita. 

I’ll just start with my usual characters first which obviously is Daichi and I think the most obvious way I write him is vers, where he genuinely enjoys both top or bottom in his encounters and it almost entirely depends on what the other person is going to enjoy more. In that for Daisuga, Suga is pretty exclusively a bottom and it’s pretty much the only point of self-conscious Suga feels in the relationship, where he doesn’t enjoy topping and he recognizes that that cuts Daichi off from something he does enjoy and worries that’s going to be an issue down the line. Daichi has never given this a second thought and is usually just really excited to get laid at all. 

I put Daichi on top in OiDai (don’t care what the ship name says) and the bottom in KuroDai and I do actually feel very strongly about that so I’ll leave it at that. This is my little blorbo and I’ll whore him out as I please. 

Ushijima is submissive in the bedroom, but also a stone top. I do not think he likes not having something to do, and does not enjoy being “treated” in any way. He wants the other person to know what they want, and he wants to do that for them, and that is the only way he can enjoy sex. I think he can enjoy more sensual foreplay or being touched in smaller doses, if the other person has made it specifically clear that they want to be touching him in that moment as part of their enjoyment of it. He doesn’t like feeling like something is being done for him exclusively and he certainly doesn’t like not having a job to do. 

All that being said on Ushijima, I think it would be easy to say that Tendou is the “freakier” one in terms of what he wants and likes in bed, and is certainly more aware of more complicated kinks or fetishes, but I think it comes really naturally to Tendou to be rough and weird during sex - and I know I’m going to lose some of you here - but because it comes naturally to Tendou, I think that makes Ushijima the kinkier one because Tendou isn’t pursuing any one kink, but Ushijima will be like ‘I liked the biting thing.’ Like there’s something about the intentionality of it, where Ushijima is definitely into his partner being super crazy in bed and that works well for Tendou because he can’t be anything else. All that being said I’m pretty sure these two are capable of breaking a bed frame with their sex. Ushijima likes following orders with exceptional efficiency and exceeding expectations so when Tendou says “fuck me ‘till I’m screaming-” well, he should be careful about what he wishes for. 

Who else, who else… 

Oh, I’m definitely of the persuasion that Oikawa is purely a bottom, but this is important to me because he is very tall and very strong, and yes, he’s a lot taller than Iwa. But let me tell you. As an afab person who is 6’ tall, nobody has an interest in letting you be cute or sweet, everyone always wants the tall woman to be a buff mommy or something. And I project that onto Oikawa. Let Oikawa be bigger than all of his sexual partners, and let them be man enough to handle it. Iwa can do it. Iwa will treat him like a prince. I will not allow this “oh don’t twinkify Oikawa it’s so 2020” BITCH stop making him into a muscley top just because he’s technically taller than his most common ship. You can do neither thing, you know that? It’s not an either/or situation he can just be a tall man and also on the bottom - he’s not even that tall, he’s barely taller than I am, I’m not impressed. To be clear.

Kita is a freak. I’ve mentioned this to other people. It’s entirely hidden. This doesn’t bleed into his daily life at all, and most people wouldn’t be able to guess it, but I think Kita is an absolute freak in bed. I tend to see him not as someone submissive, but as someone turned on by dominance, if that makes sense? Like I don’t see him as following orders, or getting “punished” or playing any kind of character, but he would very much like Aran to pick him up and throw him on the bed and ravish him, there’s no other way to put it. I also think he’s sota into bondage for that same reason, he also doesn’t “get” the appeal of the more polished feminine guys, he very much is into like big muscles, chest hair, pure man power. Bit of a size queen - could probably be enticed into a threesome. Like fully just way more a freak than anyone has ever guessed in their life. 

I don’t think I have that much more to say. Let’s do some slightly less NSFW general intimacy thoughts. 

I think one time Daichi and Suga got really carried away in the supply closet after practice and this was before they’d ever had sex and it got so heavy so fast that they realized that they had to have the conversation about preparing to have sex with each other like now because WOW that was close. I also think one of the second years proceeded to walk in on them with like shirts thrown about and hands all over each other and they weren’t… even really freaked out or even surprised, it very much was a resigned thing of “fuck, now this is gonna be like a weird thing I have to live with knowing.” It was probably either Ennoshita or Nishinoya. I do think Daichi and Suga are the kings of starting to make-out after practice thinking everyone has gone home and someone hasn’t. Guys, you live within walking distance, just go home yourself. 

Tendou really likes people knowing that he’s having sex with Ushijima. The rest of the team doesn’t like knowing this, but they can’t control at what volume Tendou says things. All that being said, I don’t think these two do a lot of PDA, which makes it sort of worse, because Tendou will scratch Ushijima until he bleeds and everyone has to live with seeing the marks. I also think Tendou likes to sit on Ushijima in group functions, in his lap or at least having his legs across him, even in more public places. Sometimes Tendou will leave functions or events that he’s bored with by telling Ushijima (loudly) to come fuck him and Ushijima will just leave whatever conversation he’s in and follow Tendou out. Like alright. 

Tendou is absolutely an oversharer, by the way, of everything that happens in the bedroom and Semi is mostly his victim but Oikawa sometimes is as well, mostly because Tendou knows that there is nothing that Oikawa wants to hear less than anything about Ushijima having sex. 

Iwaizumi, I think, really struggles with conflicting urges to hide his entire relationship from the public eye, and also wanting to show off his boyfriend, and I think what this means is that although everyone at Seijoh knows they’re dating, they have very little PDA to the point where seeing them kiss scares their fellow teammates. It’s like a once every two months occasion. Oikawa will try a little more frequently, but Iwaizumi usually verbally scolds him with something like “not in public” so people are conditioned to believe that that’s the dynamic so when there is a moment, like before a game, or after school - or, most frequently, at like an at-home study session - that they do kiss in front of people, it becomes like a pearl-clutching moment for their friends.
