can you talk more about phil being non threatening? its so true
I think we can all agree that a large part of the ~womanhood experience~ is being slightly uncomfortable my some men, not necessarily in a predatory way but in the fact that weβre aware of the power dynamic. This has nothing to do with anyoneβs sexuality or if they would actively harm you, itβs just youβd rather not be alone in a room with a man you donβt know.
However, there are some men that donβt set off your initial discomfort and you just feelβ¦safe? Once again, this has nothing to do with anything sexual as there are certainly gay men who make women feel uneasy. Itβs just that feeling of him seeing you as a whole person, that my comfort isnβt a joke or something to be belittled. That heβs aware of why women have to be on guard, and respects that.
Phil has never (to my knowledge) made a joke about r***/hurting women/making them uncomfortable, and people pick up on that. Heβs not someone to belittle or negate his primarily queer female audience, despite people outside the community constantly making jabs. He stands up for us, he doesnβt think weβre stupid. He treats us with respect. Which can be a rarity, especially when weβre talking about influencers.
Itβs not because of any stereotype he falls into or his sexuality, itβs because his kindness and thoughtfulness literally radiates from him. Itβs because every person Iβve ever seen talking about their experience with him, from a professional standpoint to his audience, has commented on how safe they feel around him; how considerate he was. Thatβs pretty damn amazing.
