It’s Meg here for TUTOR TUESDAY! Today is part one of drawing trees. I’ll do a tutorial on painting trees next time! This was a recommended tutorial, and if you have any tutorials you’d like to see just send em in here or at my personal! Have fun, keep practicing, and I’ll see you next week!

Maybe it isn’t the best drawing but I just wanted to show you how I achieve some effects. I usually draw lanscapes from life so this is the quickest way to get what I need. It’s always best to do colour studies to actually learn how everything works but if you want to draw a cloud… :) hope it’s helpful! When you make an animated film, you end up making A TON of drawings.  A lot of those drawings are just to help describe how something is constructed or how it should move.  Those drawings can get boring.  So to keep it fun, the Zootopia drawings got weirder and weirder.  Here’s some mildly weird ones.

Tezuka said much of the same! This is the great advantage anime has over Disney-style animation– tons and tons of frames make thing look very smooth and pretty, but completely removes the sense of genuine IMPACT from action sequences. They’re not as snappy! Watching a frame-by-frame of a Bruce Lee flick, you’ll see a move executed in very few shots.
