I think one of my favorite parts of this artist residency at @habitablespaces is the magical dog pack walks/run around the massive property everyday. Sorry it’s been a while since my last post. I have been swept up in a recent major life style change. I am not living completely mobile and tiny with a company started with my partner in crime called BarnYard Saints Art. We renovated a fifth wheel trailer into an art studio / living space that we are traveling around the country with selling art and working at art residencies. I'm excited to finally share this music video I created for the amazing soul duo Freddy & Francine. "If You Want Me" was filmed over the course of a couple weeks while traveling on tour with the band. When they weren't preforming, we were on the streets wherever we were from #neworleans to#austin asking complete strangers to lip sync a line or two from the song. Then I found some Martha's Vineyard folks to fill in some gaps. The result was a little surprising for me.. As I did not expect the individuals interpretation of the singular words/ lines to come out so differently. The song took on a whole new meaning. It was humbling. I finally got around to cleaning up this Great wheel that I inherited from a distant family member. It was confusing at first I was calling them big wheels, but I soon learned its literally called a "great wheel". It's as tall as I am! (That's only ... 5ft. It's a beautiful world down here) No matter how many crazy hobbies and interests I get into I always return to fiber and spinning yarn. Someday I hope to hold classes to teach others this meditative relaxing art form ..
