Hmm, I didn't know what I was doing when designing covers so I just looked at what other artists I liked were doing to see what stood out to me

I do a lot of image editing in my covers, so a random picture will get edited to hell to get the look I want + hallucinogenic text

I need y'all to be doing this, I have no marketing budget and people find music through stuff like that

The main thing I can say is it gets easier with practice, when I was a kid I wrote in a notebook which eventually had over 100 songs in it, all of which had music and melody in my head. I wasn't able to conjure/create it yet, and after years of playing guitar and piano on a super mediocre level, I was eventually able to turn what was happening in my head into a physical form. It just takes a lot of experimentation and curiosity:)

Additionally, I also get more abstract/nebulous with what's in my head. Because while composing and producing music, new better more interesting ideas will reveal themselves to you as you layer stuff in.
