Hey! I'm doing my first cosplay next year as Kaito, and I seem to have everything to make the cosplay, however I have no idea where to find a good enough suit jacket for Kaito. I looked at the tags for kaito and all I found was an explanation of what he was wearing. So far I've found a long purple jacket, but it was a bit more red than purple. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for which jacket to order online. Thanks for all the help!
you can try something like this? personally, i went thrift shopping and found my suit there. thrifting, pawing through ebay or other shopping sites, OR buying a white suit and dyeing it are good options.

For Hiyoko Saionji's Kimono in game, what fabric and pattern would you suggest to make it and how would you go about putting the flowers/petals onto the kimono or the cat prints onto the ribbon and bows (like printing them on or painting them on or something?), preferably under $60-80.
please check the tag for patterns, but for fabrics, a sateen, nice satin or a cotton blend would work.
as for printing vs painting, thatās up to you! iād use heat transfers personally.

Do you know any wigs that could be used for maki, but are under 20 ā¬\$?
try ebay, be prepared for it to be unusable after one wear because itāll tangle. your other bet is scouring wig sale groups for somebodyās wig secondhand.

Hey all, not sure if you heard, but if not, Cospa's doing another run of Komaeda jackets!! They're expensive (and you'll need a proxy), but they're also official :O cospatio(.)com/detail/id/00000056611 (at this moment, amiami still has mediums in stock - if anyone knows of any other internationally-shipping sites could they link?)
http://cospatio.com/detail/id/00000056611
nice! i know amiami also reprints it sometimes, but this is not one of those times.
proxies like tenso are good for this kind of thing. do what you can!

what kind of makeup would be best for a tenko cosplay? im planning on cosplaying as tenko and i have everything except for her makeup. thanks in regards!
i think a big wing and then a small lower wing works best! i use false eyelashes a lot too, but just top lashes work with that thick eyeliner. blush if you use it, and something simple for lipsā¦definitely no red or dark colors. dull pinks or nudes, lip gloss may work fine, chapstick is also good.
i donāt think you really need special eyeshadow. just nudes. minus the eyeliner and lashes to mimic the art style, i donāt think you should really look made-up for tenko at all. i donāt thinkā¦sheās the type to wear make up? so just a natural look, besides the eyes.
and when i say eyeliner, i mean like thisā¦
the lower wing should be kind of diagonal, but mostly horizontal. if it goes too vertical, it looks like clown make up⦠you can make the top half of your eyeliner thicker or thinner depending on your eyelids/eye shape, and the wings can be whatever length you like, but i suggest not going too long! the bottom wing also shouldnāt be longer than the top one, but if itās too short, it blends into your lashes.
donāt forget her beauty mark by her mouth. you can do that easily with eyeliner.

Do you think a magnum in plum from arda would work for Kokichi?
itād be a little short, but yeah, it could work pretty well! iād suggest dyeing the roots, but itās not necessary.

hello! i looked through some of the prop tutorial tag, and i found the miu iruma hammer tutorial, but i find a lot of the tutorial very complicated and i donāt think i have access to many of the things the creator used. do you think i could find any other, simpler method?
iām not sure there are any other tutorials, but you can sub materials out pretty easily for the same results. the math/LEDs donāt change much, but instead of using blue leds you can just use blue plastic for the light panels and normal LEDs. you can use pvc pipe for the handle, and you can even use something like cardboard for the hammer. (you can also use something like posterboard or foam, just be careful of how fragile what youāre working with is, and flammable.)
also, you donāt NEED the lights.
otherwise, this is a really high level prop, and if you donāt think you can make an attempt at it comfortably, i suggest trying easier props for a while until you work up the confidence to take on the project. there isnāt much i can do about making that part easier for you.
remember to be careful about what you use and careful with LEDs, copper wires and the likes. wood is a material you need a lot of experience working with/help with to really use, and with something like an electrohammer, you really need to know what youāre doing, even with an in depth tutorial.
that being said, donāt let that deter you from the project. if it was just a question of material accessibility and simplifying the directions from things like drilling and the like, that should work well enough.
hope this helped!

hey! hereās a pattern i found thatd work great for souda.

i was browsing through fabrics and i found a twill that works really, really well for makiās bow! you may need to interface it, though. this may also work!

Hello! I'm planning on cosplaying a human Monomi soon and I wanted to have her magic wand as a prop, so I was wondering if you had any tips on how to make it? Thank you! ^.^
so! i can absolutely point you in a good direction for tutorials.
1 2 3 4 5
basically, you can do two approachesā pvc pipe for the staff, or a wooden dowel. for either, make sure to get the appropriate paint that wonāt chip off easily, and something to seal the paint/make it glossy looking!
you can either use foam, worbla, foam+worbla, clay, or styrofoam/tinfoil covered by clay for the additions! for the gems (the one in the center of the heart, the one between the wings and the one at the end of the staff) you can do stuff like resin casting or buy resin jewels at a craft store or etsy. for the wings, you can either use foam/worbla/clay, but you could also buy miniature wings from craft stores or etsy. (you could also make wings with feathers and such.)
also, you can either do flat yellow for the hearts/end parts, or you can do gold! also, never be afraid to add a glitter finish to these kinds of things. i donāt think i need to say too much about how to construct it with those tutorials added, but remember your glues.
hope that helps! if i missed something, or you have a more specific question after these tips, feel free to ask again!

new drv3 wig suggestions!
ha ha. get it? new danganronpa v3?
anyways, since the games been out a while, iād like to resuggest different wigs for the v3 cast! now that weāve seen their designs in their entireties, i have some thoughts. letās go through it!
kaede: itās about shoulder length (letās not fight about this) blonde hair, bangs pinned to the side, and a cute lil ahoge. iād use a champagne buttercup or a fairy blonde eowyn if youāre going arda, but here are other places to consider. 1 2 3 4
shuuichi: a short layered bob with an ahoge and long bangs. the five wits made us a saihara specific wig, actually! if youāre going arda, a blue grey caine, a midnight blue derek, or a dark blue blue steele would all be options! feel free to pick and choose from the colors and styles, because i think they carry some of those three colors in those three styles. 1 2
rantarou: the five wits has an amami specific wig! a laurel green jaguar is your best arda option, sadly. 1 2(get wefts too)
ryouma: very short reddish brown hair. a warm light brown rocky from arda works. 1 2 3 4
kirumi: a bob, but with long, long bangs, and a longer part of it that goes into a curl over her left eye. you can either cut the length of an aria blonde buttercup, or get the same color in a magnum and get wefts. 1 2 3 (if you have wig experience, you could try taking the bun off of this wig and rewefting, straightening and recurling the wig to your liking.)
angie: a little bit longer than shoulder length, gently wavy, white blonde hair! its just the slightest hint of blonde. her bangs are feathered, but straight across. iād say nina is the best style from arda, but you can choose just about any color from ash blonde, victory blonde, titanium blonde, or silver. amber is also a great choice in the aforementioned colors available. 1 2 3
tenko: tenkoās hair is...hard! itās a dark green with brown undertones, but its held in two lowĀ āpigtailsā that are kind of...helix? shaped...you canāt do this wig without foamcore or something, but you have options: either work with a super long wig, or...spare yourself and make it in pieces with a long-ish wig and wefts. from arda, i suggest anything from the colors cool dark brown, ivy, and mirkwood green.Ā 1 2
korekiyo: just long dark hair with sideswept bangs. its worth questioning whether its a dark blue or green, but i guess thatās up to you? try a silky venus in seaweed. 1 2 3
miu: long, curly pinky-blonde hair with two ahoges and uneven bangs. the five wits made a miu specific wig! from arda, a nina in light strawberry blonde or pink pearl would be great-- a luthien in pink pearl or a lightning pink amber are also good options. 1 2 3 4 5
gonta: long, wavy and wild brown-green hair with plenty ahoges. this one is...hard, because most of the wig places that have colors i like...Donāt have styles i like in those colors. a venus or luthien in hazel brown or ivy would work from arda, but be prepared for it to tangle. other options you may want to consider dyeing the wig.Ā 1 2 3
kokichi: dark, spiky hair with purple highlights...the five wits made an ouma specific wig! from arda, iād suggest a plum inigo-- then you can dye in darker roots. you could also get the same wig in dark purple and weft in a lighter color like plum, or whatever your preference is. 1 2
kaito: plum-ish, reddish-purplish-pinkish hair that spikes from the top right hand side to the bottom left. unfortunately, kaitoās wig color is...really hard. the best options from arda are a jareth in plum or a jaguar in dark berry, but even then, theyāre not perfect colors. 1
tsumugi: one of the easier wigs! middle parted dark blue hair, wavy. iām a fan of a grace in indigo blue. 1 2 3 4
kiibo: spiky, asymmetrical off-white hair with a huge ahoge! iād use a jaguar in victory blonde. 1 2 3 4
maki: SUPER SUPER long deep brown hair held in two low wavy pigtails, with straight bangs. a silky delilah or venus in espresso or mocha works! 1 2 3
himiko: a blunt cut but asymmetrical red bob with her bangs pinned back over her right eye. i think an inigo in maroon, crimson or rust red would be great, but really any reds in that style work. 1 2
and there you have it! hope that helps.

hello! tenko's uniform looks sort of thicker and more winter-y than a lot of the others, what kind of fabric do you think would work best in reflecting that + making a solid sailor uniform? also, any tips on doing the side opening jacket thing (double breasted is the term maybe??) thank you!!
double-breasted is the term! honestly, iād say its safe to assume most uniforms are winter uniforms that we seeā¦(the only exception is it looked like sdr2ā²s uniforms were summer uniforms, but v3 is winter again.) you can really just use a nice twill, if youāre adamant on making it thicker, just line it.
as for making it double breasted, thereās a bunch of complicated math you can do, or you can just take an existing pattern, split the front into two sides, lengthen them both, and then justā¦pull one side over the other. you can either sew down buttons and make button holes, or you can just add temporary closure like snap buttons/hooks and eyes and then sew the buttons onto the front flap only. itās up to you!
you should definitely do a few drafts, though, to make sure it lays right. iām probably going to get yelled at for saying you should wing it, but doing a few mock ups will basically save you from any horrific blunders.

hi! i have two questions about my peko wig. the first is a very general one. the wig is very heavy and it slips off easily. what do you recommend on how to keep it on? my other question relateds to the braids. i tried to rebraid one of the braids and it got all frizzy, and i messed up the top of the wig a little bit. should i keep it or rebraid it? how do you rebraid it properly? iām very new to cosplay, so iām sorry if iām asking too many questions!
itās not a problem! ok, so letās startā
is your wig a split back wig with long hair in the braids? or is it a split back with short pigtails and clips? or is it just a short wig with clips? if the pigtails are clips, you can just take them off the wig, unbraid them, brush them and the base wig, and then try again.
if itās long pigtails, which it sounds like it may be, you CAN take it completely out of the pigtail! itās a bit of a hassle to tie back up, but it can be done, i just recommend doing one side at a time. just take it out of the braids AND pigtails, brush it, then put it on your head and tie it up.
as for the heaviness, try something like this or this. there are also these things called wig grips that are life savers.
feel free to rebraid, unbraid, brush out, and rebraid as much as you need to! itāsā¦a process.

hey i know youve got this question before- but its been a while- do you have any cardigan/hoodie recs for chiakiās jacket? im somewhat capable of sewing- at least enough to modify a base piece with the amount of time i have.
stuff like this or this would work!

I'm interested in cosplaying Kaito Momota this spring, but his hair is slightly scaring me away. I haven't been able to find any tutorials for his wig, and very few for spikes that would work, do you know how I could style his wig properly? Thank you so much for any help!
basically any final fantasy or kingdom hearts wig tutorials are a great place to start. once you see how spikes are made, you just have to make the body point one direction and the bangs in another. this one is good for sculpted spikes, but this one is good for more natural looking spikes.
if youāve never styled a wig like this before, your options are to either jump in, do your best, and accept what ever you end up doing, to commission someone else, or to accept you canāt do it and do something else. honestly, some of my first wig projects were abysmal, but you get the hang of it, and itās always fun to revisit old wigs and take another whack at the character once youāve gotten better.
remember to buy a wig without a skin top when styling this wig! it helps a lot. also, the blue.beard brand ebay wig is great to work with. (iād know, i used it.)
