Stock research
Adobe Stock
Adobe Stock is the newest player in the game. Launching almost exactly two years ago in 2015, and with much admiration, it has some of the best qualities of each of the other sites while trying stay competitive in the market. They are fully integrated into Adobe CC software, specifically Lightroom. As a contributor, all you have to do is drop your photos in the Adobe Stock publishing area and it will upload it for you, ready for you to add keywords and titles. Not only does that make it seamless to upload content, but also makes it seamless for customers to test content within programs like Photoshop and InDesign. By integrating Adobe Stock into Adobe CC they make everyone’s lives a little easier. Submission Platform: Their submission platform, and content dashboard are completely modern. It’s almost as if Adobe looked at what everyone else was failing to provide and included it in their design, then built it from the ground up. It gives you individual stats on every photo, real-time sales, and a beautiful, easy to navigate interface. Submission Review Time:Adobe is ranks at the top for this one. They have been very quick and consistent to turn around images that are submitted. Submissions seem to get reviewed in just a day or two on average. Earnings:The earnings are neither good, nor bad. Adobe is a microstock site, meaning that you won’t earn much. However, while you might earn pennies on Shutterstock, you can earn dimes on Adobe. $0.20 is the lowest I’ve seen a sale for, and $3.33 is the highest (for their standard contributors). Recently though, I’ve noticed many images selling for $0.99. And in my mind, $1 per image isn’t all that bad, and can add up quickly. Content Approval: While they are only a microstock site, their pickiness for the technical execution and releases is a bit extreme. I’ve had photos rejected that were properly exposed night shots, for being “under-exposed” or a shallow DOF shot for “image out of focus”. Creative Freedom:The content they’re looking for is generic, wide market interest. They don’t want something they conveys an emotion, they want standard stock with smiling teeth, lifestyle, and bright environment. Alamy
Alamy Stock Photo Agency is one of the oldest and biggest stock photo agencies on the internet. It has a huge collection of stock photos, continues to re-invent how people use and search for stock photos and recently did a website makeover to make photo searching an easier and faster task. Their soon to be patented search engine is unique and revolutionary in the industry. With a database of over 69 million images, this has to be their customer focus. Submission Platform:Their new website design, which was launched in April of 2010 has successfully incorporated some key features that are attractive to one time purchasers, bloggers and web designers. The new search engine is easy to use and navigate. Submission review and quality control:They introduced a three star ranking system that is based on your QC history and how often you pass or fail QC. The more stars you have the more quickly they review your submissions.3 stars – your new submissions will be reviewed as quickly as possible.2 stars – check your images in detail to make sure you qualify for that extra star.1 star – you fail QC a lot and it takes longer to look at your work. If you fail QC, your account will be frozen for 10 days before you can upload images again. Licens options:Alamy has two licensing options, Royalty Free and Rights Managed. Rights Managed includes exclusive and non-exclusive categories with the licensing particulars determined at the time of purchase. The rights managed licensing tool helps buyers determine their needs. The layout is easy to use and clearly outlines options. Creative Freedom:The new Creative Collection is a series of creative images that are stunning, conceptual images from top international stock shooters. Images are collected from premium photographers, cutting edge agencies and include flexible pricing. all in one place. Searches can segment the creative collection.

Street style photographers have rapidly evolved into an indispensable part of the scene, defining trends and icons, inspiring designers, and contributing to the democratization of fashion. The majority started out with little or no technical knowledge, but had some relation to fashion or the arts and they soon elevated their amateurish activity into a job …

Robert Capa He was a Hungarian war photographer and Photojournalist. He is considered by some to be the greatest combat and adventure photographer in history.n 1931 and 1932 Capa worked for Dephot, a German picture agency, before establishing himself in Paris, where he assumed the name Robert Capa. He first achieved fame as a war correspondent in the Spanish Civil War. By 1936 his mature style fully emerged in grim, close-up views of death such as Loyalist Soldier, Spain. Such immediate images embodied Capa’s famous saying, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, then you aren’t close enough.” In World War II he covered much of the heaviest fighting in Africa, Sicily, and Italy for Life magazine, and his photographs of the Normandy Invasion became some of the most memorable of the war. After being sworn in as a United States citizen in 1946, Capa in 1947 joined with the photographers Henri Cartier-Bresson and David (“Chim”) Seymour to found Magnum Photos, the first cooperativeagency of international freelance photographers. Although he covered the fighting in Palestine in 1948, most of Capa’s time was spent guiding newer members of Magnum and selling their work. He served as the director of the Magnum office in Paris from 1950 to 1953. In 1954 Capa volunteered to photograph the French Indochina War for Life and was killed by a land mine while on assignment. His untimely death helped establish his posthumous reputation as a quintessentially fearless photojournalist. Publications featuring his photographs include Death in the Making (1937), Slightly Out of Focus (1947), Images of War (1964), Children of War, Children of Peace (1991), and Robert Capa: Photographs (1996).

Photography Service : -Babies -Children -Family -Pets -Pregnancy -New born They are based in Merchant city Glasgow Qualifications - The website doesn't say anything about their photographers. They page mentions that they have more than 30 years experience in photography. They have no information about they photographers. They work seems to target families . It seems that they provide a low quality service but they also working with low prices. They can provide services such as studio photography and framing but I couldn't fine any proof for high quality work. Postproduction work also seems really poor. the images looks like they haven't been optimised in a professional level. This company doesn't show any sign of professional work or creativity.

college spaces brief
Structure Evaluation
For this brief I attempted 2 different photo shoots. My first try was the People’s palace in Glasgow green park. I have been amazed about that building for so long that I have the chance to do a proper architectural photoshoot about it. I visited the building on a sunny day in a late afternoon when the lights weren't too harsh. I used a 14 mm/f2.8 wide angle lens a 50mm/f1.4 standard lens and a tripod for the photo shoot. My aim was creating straight lines on my images. I knew that with the 14 mm wide angle lens it will impossible but there are plenty of ways to correct the lines in photoshop. I was satisfied with my images but unfortunately I couldn't use them because People’s palace is not a contemporary building. Anyway I am pleased with my images and I am also happy that I have some decent architectural images of that building. For the second photo shoot I looked up the contemporary buildings in Glasgow on Google then I decided to shoot my college building as my subject.
I took out a tripod and a 24-105mm/f4 lens from the store room and I shot some interior shots of the building. I chose mid day for the time of the photo shoot because most of the student were in class so most of the building was empty. I had some nice lights coming through the skylight windows which highlighted some details of the building and created some nice shadows. I decided to do the exteriors during the night time. The building nicely lit with colour lights during the night so it seemed a better idea than doing it bright daylight. After I finished both shoots I used photoshop and camera raw filter to correct my images. During the photo shoot I tried to achieve straight lines so I might have to do less post production work. However camera raw filter has a really good and straight forward option to correct vertical an horizontal lines on the images. I have been using this filter a lot , so I knew at the location shoot that I must leave enough space around my subject because I will have to crop the image.
First I organised my images in Adobe bridge then I made some small adjustment in camera raw filter. I adjusted the exposure, shadows, highlight, colour and clarity then I used the transform tool to adjust straight lines on the images. I had to crop the images a loot because when we are using the transform tool it takes off the edges of the image. After I adjusted the lines I opened the images in photoshop. I photoshop I adjusted the image size and the colour balance then made some small corrections on the straight lines where it was necessary. For the final step I sharpened the images and organised them on A3 canvases.
After all I really enjoyed this task. At the beginning I was sceptical about this brief because I have never been interested in architectural photography but I must say I really enjoyed it and im going to practice it more in the near future. I would like to try a tilt shift lens in the future for better results.

Illuminate Research Light painting is a photographic technique in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source while taking a long exposure photograph, either to illuminate a subject or to shine a point of light directly at the camera, or by moving the camera itself during exposure. The technique is used for both scientific and artistic purposes, as well as in commercial photography. Light painting has long inspired photographers with the technique capturing a moving light source whilst taking a long exposure photograph which is difficult to perfect but can produce exciting results.

Structure Research
Tilt shift lens
Perspective control lens is specialised lens that has the ability to moderately rotate the image focal plane with a pitch or yaw, as well as shew the image perspective. This is possible by additional design features that allows the lens to physically tilt, shift and rotate. Tilt shift encompasses two different types of movements; rotation of the lens plane relative to the image plane called tilt , and movement of the lens parallel to the image plane called shift. For professional architectural photography, these qualities are essential for keeping buildings squared and in focus. A tilt shift lens has 6 unique applications
Miniature effect correcting converging vertical lines avoid obstructions or reflections sideways tilt increasing depth of field panoramic shots
Telephoto lens
Gives a more realistic compression of object in the scene and to avoid perspective distortion. As a lens focal length decreases the amount of distortion increases. Telephoto lenses flatten perspective and reduce the sense of depth.
Large format camera
Sinar large format camera Sinar’s view-cameras allow both the lens and the film back or sensor back to move in rotation or linearly in any direction, thus allowing precise image alignment corrections. The sinar camera body is equipped with spirit-levels for all axis to facilitate levelling the camera. Once the camera has been levelled it can be turned into position without loosing level thanks to its built in 360 degree rotating mount.
Photoshop and post production
In Photoshop there are many ways to correct perspective on architectural images. The simplest way to fix the barrel distortion is to use the Lens Correction filter which accesses profiles of different cameras and will apply that profile to the image you have.
Under the custom tab we can remove barrel distortion and perspective errors manually.
Types of transformations
Skew
Slants an item vertically and horizontally.
Distort
Stretches an item in all directions.
Perspective
Applies one‑point perspective to an item.
Warp
Manipulates the shape of an item.
