I don't even know how to summarize my feelings for that fic but I sure will try. I read L'Histoire Français a few days ago and then jumped *immediately* to Birthday Sex because I absolutely fell in love with your writing. (and had to see what all the fuss was about of course, things are popular for a reason and holy fucking shitballs I see why people rave about Birthday Sex now)

Both works had me staying up till 3am or later for days in a row because I simply couldn't put them down. Everything about it really, but specifically Phil in L'Histoire Français had me blushing, kicking my feet and giggling so hard, melting into my fucking bed and tearing up all at the same time.

Birthday Sex might take the cake for my favourite fic I've ever read, of any fandom. The way you write is so visceral and beautiful and devastating and just so perfect, truly like I could picture every damn word. If ao3 had in line comments like Wattpad used to, (do they still? Idk I haven't logged in to that in years lol) I would have been commenting on every other line, I highlighted *so* many things on my Kobo lol. I won't say anything super specific in case someone who hasn't read it sees this, but I legit teared up at the little bits and pieces in the last few chapters that have genuinely come true in the last few years. Our boys are so happy now 😭 In the era of fandoms being as big as they are and things moving so fast all the time, I hope it brings you joy that people are still loving this almost ten years later, because it sure as hell brought me joy and about 89 other emotions.

The amount of research and dedication you put into your work is incredible, thank you *so* much for using your talent for something like this, and for sharing it with the world. 💜

I've been trying to gear up to respond to this all morning. I was having a pretty crappy morning honestly so this was the loveliest message to get.

It makes me so happy to know you're having fun reading the stories - I also have a soft spot for L'Histoire Phil so I get it haha. As for the rest, I don't even know what to say - the fact you took the time and care to pick out the parts of BS that you loved and save them makes me want to wrap you in a big hug.

As you can imagine, I get a lottt of mixed reactions to Birthday Sex these days especially from newer phannies who don't know the trenches we were in back then lmao. It's difficult even for me to remember how painful it all was to watch them inside the closet and to remember where the idea for BS came from. I don't regret it or anything but I am SO glad it has been disproved! The actual truth is so much better than my imaginings and thank goodness for that.

Anyway my point is thank you for braving the waters of BS even now after all this time, because it's certainly not for the faint of heart. I love to hear people's reactions even if they're just yelling at me for making them cry lol.
