The Light On Your Door
A straight-lined full-draped jacket with broad square shoulders and velvet cuffs. His drainpipe trousers hug his legs in a way that’s hazardously flattering. He smooths a hand over his pink-striped waistcoat, grinning like a loon at his reflection. He has never felt this empowered, this invincible, this dangerous. The oily sculpture of his jelly-rolled quiff gleams in the light streaming in through the window - a literal illumination occurring in the humble bedroom of one young John Lennon.
