Today, when it comes to film promotion, there's a lot of talk about method dressing. Does this technique also apply to hairstyling?

far   too   many   women   seemed   content   with   the   course   their   lives   had   been   set   upon.   whatsoever   guiding   their   actions...   all   content   to   remain   no   more   than   porcelain   ornaments   at   their   husband’s   side.   not   that   marisa   thought   they   excelled   in   that   role   either...   if   that   were   the   case,   she   wouldn’t   be   leaving   a   trail   of   stares   in   her   wake   like   breadcrumbs...   &   elizabeth,   too,   required   neither   make-up   nor   extravagant   jewels   to   radiate   a   natural   beauty   others   could   only   envy.   beautiful   &   smart... 

"Almost all of them are. Even my own husband, especially him." She said. She knew Tommy, and she knew that he wasn't a nice man. The war had taken the nice parts away. She, herself, had gotten harder in time; she had seen too much, gone through too much, to not have rough edges. Maybe that was what made her not like most women here; they had everything handed to them on a platter, but not Marisa. She seemed to be a fighter, someone who also has rough edges. "I still love him, but it's the truth. He is a very smart man, sees things not many others do, and he does care about some things more deeply than he lets on. Doesn't mean he can still be a bastard," She said the last part with a small smile and winked at Marisa. Tommy was a bastard in a whole different way than the other men; he did have morals and was a family man. His family was the most important thing in the world, and she was now a part of that family, together with their daughter Ruby. And she was deeply in love with him, would always be, even when he sometimes treated her badly.

Lizzie wasn't going to confess that, yes, she was here to get dirt on some people. Some things Tommy could use to advance in politics. So instead of answering the last question, she takes another drag of her cigarette, "he has more interest in men in the bedroom than women, it seems." In her opinion, one may love who they love; she didn't see the problem with same sex couplings, but it was something frowned upon by some others. Tommy shared her thoughts on the subject; they were quite progressive in that regard. "His lover is quite prominent as well," and he was not here, so she didn't think Marisa would realise who it was tonight.

She found she liked Marisa's boldness, the way she spoke her mind, not caring about the consequences. It seemed to come with a freedom that Lizzie had never felt before. She let her eyes go over her form, taking in the way she stood at the railing, one arm over the other, protective of herself. There was more there than she was willing to show; it made her curious. At the other's statement about her holding her tongue, she smiled back at her. "Hmm, so you've been watching me?" A brow rose in question, still the smile lingered on her lips.

"Truth is that most of the women bore me, and the men are all bastards." She said easily, taking another drag of her cigarette before continuing, "I prefer to watch, to see what is happening around me. You can tell a lot about people by just watching them interact with others." She normally didn't enjoy these parties, with too many stuck-up people who only cared about their image. "Did you know that Mr Pool has been having an affair?" Tom liked her to come with him just for this, to have her watch, listen, and report back to him with rumours and things he could use against someone.

She took out a lucifer and lit it for the other, her hand cupping around the flame to keep it alive long enough to light her cigarette. She kept her gaze on the other woman, not looking away before leaning back when she saw the flame had caught. "Do they?" She questioned back, a half smile playing on her face, thinking she had caught the meaning of what she had said, but not being certain, she didn't want to assume after all. Her fox daemon, a dark silver in colour, tentatively moved to the golden monkey, as a way to greet them, make himself known to the other.

She took Marisa's hand, "It definitely is a pleasure." She responded. Keeping her eyes locked for a while longer, but after a little bit, Lizzie looked away from Marisa's penetrating gaze, looking out over the city. She took another drag of her cigarette, blowing the smoke away from them, "It seems our husbands have been spending quite some time together. Because of that, I've heard your name fall into our household a few times." She paused for a moment, looking back at her, "It seems my husband was quite impressed by your intelligence, said something about you is different from the other wives he had seen around."

The others tried to tell Lorraine that it had touched them, one of them even having been marked, and they showed the pictures. Sadie stayed quiet while they all talked. She had been the least affected after all, but after a while, she said, "Maybe it doesn't like us renovating, but the place was falling apart before we started, it had been abandoned for a few years." Sadie's bright eyes followed the other woman, watching how she moved and how she listened to them all, and she couldn't help but check her out a bit more.

"It is most active in the cellar. That's also where my friend got the scratches. Want me to show you the cellar and show you the rest of the house as well?" She asked as she knew the others wouldn't go down there anymore, not after what had happened. And Sadie wouldn't mind spending a bit more time in the others' presence.

i   don't   dwell   on   it   further,   &   instead   turn   all my   attention   back   to   the   young   woman.   to   the   smile   she   offers.   her   lively   energy   makes   it   easier   to   feel   something   beyond   the   constant   ache   coiling   inside   my   chest.   i   gasp   softly   before   i   think   better   of   my   reaction.   it   wasn't   filled   with   judgement   at   all,   but   i   realise   it   might   well   be   perceived   that   way   by   the   younger   woman.   ❝   oh,   if   we   had   much   say   in   the   matter   of   who   we   fall   in   love   with…   it   could   save   us   a   great   deal   of   heartbreak.   ❞   i   say fast,   offering   understanding.   after   all,   now   more   than   ever,   i   see   the   mistakes   i   too   might   have   made   over   the   course   of   our   marriage,   driven   solely   by   love   for   my   son   &   husband.

"It started as something fun, didn't expect to actually fall in love. Expected to have my heart broken even less. But here we are, moving on and looking at the future ahead." She responded, "The near future is filled with horrible singing and dancing from my side, but I do feel like we are going to have fun together." She took Jessica's arm in hers, linking them as if they were already good friends. She found that she liked the sound of Jessica laughing and vowed to make her laugh more often tonight. Sadie was sure they would only have tonight together, and she was going to make the most of it. Hoping to go home with the other woman, but if she wouldn't, that was okay as well, as long as they had fun together, right?

Sadie was good at noticing things, and even though she wasn't going to comment on it, she did notice the slight colouring of the others' cheeks in response to her comments. And she filed that away for later. She was honest to a fault, oversharing all the time, and she knew that it sometimes put people off, but she wasn't going to change herself for anyone, and so far it seemed that Jessica wasn't too put off by it. "I never tried skydiving before. Have you?" She questioned as she uncurled her arm from Jessica's and stepped into the karaoke bar. She looked around and found she quite liked the ambience. "What kind of drink can I get you?"

Sadie just shrugged when Jessica (@judgeparks) said more than she asked, that she had done it before, because she had. It was something that made her feel alive, knowing that she could just take what she wanted. But that she had gotten caught this time made her think maybe she should find other ways to get an adrenaline kick. When Jess started to open up about her own divorce, she listened first, letting her tell the story before giving her own opinion on what she had said. "Sounds like you did most of the heavy lifting to keep you all together, while he took it all for granted." She said, eyes flitting over the older woman, taking her in and noticing she didn't want to speak about it further, not yet, at least.

Sadie smiled back at her, at the compliment in there, "Oh yes, I should have known that falling for an older married woman could've only ended one way for me." She commented, knowing very well how it sounded. "Still, I am indeed young and beautiful," she said as if stating a fact, not out of arrogance but out of confidence, knowing how hard she had worked for her physique. "And in the company of a very beautiful woman, who seems to be in need of a drink and a way to be able to let off some steam as much as I do." She laughed a little out loud, "Hmm, yeah, I am thinking about quitting the shoplifting part, but I quite like the hit of adrenaline I get when doing it. It's almost as good as having good sex with a beautiful woman."
