[PSA] Spam Private Messages
We're currently investigating a spate of spam private messages being sent to players on the site.
These private messages do not have links in them. They're quite friendly and are heavily focused on topics typically associated with Flight Rising players, like role-play, art commissions, etc. From there, they'll invite you to privately message them over on Discord (currently), where whatever link or file they send you won't be flagged.
This is a common tactic, to isolate the intended victim by bringing them to a "second place."
Never go to the second place. If what they're looking to discuss in private messages is legitimate, they'll have no problems discussing their topics on the Flight Rising website.
Please be careful when you're being sent an unknown link or file. Don't download files or click on links from people employing these tactics online.

so i wanted to make a bunch of customers for the shop but Crescent is this revenge recipient's only feral dragon so i decided to use my own ocs. debated sea rose trying not to reveal she's an animus who will use the stuff she buys to do animus stuff to Crescent while shopping, but i decided Transcendence and Prominence would be nice. they deserve it. Crescent would probably be like "these two older kids are really excited over very cheap fabric, I hope they just don't understand the value of money and aren't being abused" and meanwhile the kids are having their best interaction with an adult this year.
i feel like they'd have a lot to talk about if the kids could let down their guard for a minute

Imagine:
Pearlcatchers who lost their pearl that keep producing the slime for it. The slime drools from their mouth, coating their teeth… It keeps flowing, flowing, flowing…
Their teeth grow a little bit every day. Shined by the black liquid constantly spewing from the dragon’s mouth. Their teeth eventually fuse, growing into massive, deformed fangs that are made of pure, opalescent pearl.
IMAGINE.
Soon after this stage, the growth becomes uncomfortable and then painful, causing the afflicted find stones or other such things to wear them down. The constant irritation has been known to make them violent or even hostile until, some way or another, the fangs grow too large, piercing the skull and killing the dragon.
And PCs know this! Think about it, all PCs do the same thing even if they have a pearl still. I bet that goop gets stuck in their teeth all the time!
So maybe PCs invented ways to keep their teeth clean through certain herbs or scrubs and need to keep up with a consistent dental regime to avoid such a fate.
Imagine the bad stigma between PCs when they see another PC with pearlescent teeth (sign of poor hygeine) but I’d imagine it’s unavoidable in elderly PCs.

Endling was a BeetleWing born in Queen Cochineal's reign. They were the last BeetleWing to exist.
Born to an inbred family of blood purists, Endling was given a choice: marry their much older brother and produce more pureblooded dragonets, or cut their family off and strike out on their own. It took a lot, but they did the latter. They changed their name, moved in with their SilkWing and HiveWing friends, and left their family for good.
And the BeetleWing tribe ended there.
Endling would go on to live a good life. A happy life. A life where they didn't have to worry about blood purity, or inbred children. They grew. They made more friends. They even fell in love.
They would have their own children, one day. And those children would not be BeetleWings.
That, they decided, would be fine.

The moth they're holding is a Sloane's Urania, an extinct species that was destroyed by habitat destruction, which a lot of species probably experienced during the reign of Queen Wasp.

This year I'm trying to get more followers for my tumblr lore/art blog, @otherpeoplesstories ! I will attack you if you send me your tumblr on Artfight, or your artfight over here. Or if you attack me, I always revenge (at least for attacks posted pre-July 30th), and I'm fine with friendly fire, though that's a bit less of a concern this year! If you want me on your list of people who will attack you early, and therefore first, you can hmu before artfight, just don't chose a character of yours for me, I like to have a choice on which one to draw in an attack.

Finally made a SharpWing OC... 'bout time
Twenty-Six is a SharpWing, and was the result of an experiment to create more SharpWings when the barrier fell. With no active animus dragons in the world, there was no way to make more SharpWings... until Qibli remembered Turtle's bowl.
The bravest of the original SharpWings, Nine, decided to be replicated. Turns out SharpWings do count as objects, except that the first replication didn't create an identical copy, it created a completely new SharpWing. This SharpWing was named Twenty-Six, and nicknamed Bloody by Umber. Turtle gifted the bowl to the SharpWings, and they finally could make new SharpWings.
Bloody themself is a very pampered and spoiled little guy. They were the first new SharpWing in three thousand years, and the other SharpWings were eager to induct them into their world. Bloody was considered a miracle and a sign of better things to come, plus they were the coolest thing to happen to these three-thousand-year-old dragons. So Bloody was given gifts, celebrated, and could probably get away with murder if they so chose. But they aren't too bad, they try to live up to the reputation their creation gave them.
Love the new crepe minigame. Started imagining what my own dragons would order. You think the NPCs sass off to you? Can you imagine what the average player's lair dragons would order, especially all the murderers, criminals, scammers, and demi-gods???
Anyway, I drew three of my own dragon's crepe orders. They'd be the worst customers ever.
