Just A Glimpse

I think we all have a person we never really get over. Someone who will have a bit of your heart forever. Someone from which we still have a bit in our hearts. The pain from missing might not kill us anymore, but it still hurts. Missing that person is just as big as the love you still got for them. You’ll miss them whenever something good or bad happends. And no matter who you’ll meet, at the end of the day it’s still that person. You’ll look to the moon just to feel closer to them, and hoping they’re staring back. You’ll start to love to watch to the clouds, cause somewhere they remind you of them. You’ll love the air cause you both still breath the same air. You’ll come to places where you both came, just to feel it again. You’ll do anything to get back in then. You’ll write unsendable letters. Everything will remind you of that person, and you’ll wait for them, always. Because you know you’ll never get something special like that again. And you know no one could ever be happier and more broken than you guys were.

You either love someone or you don’t. Your love isn’t based on how you feel about that person that day, regardless if you woke up in a bad mood or if they are actin distant or strange. Your love shouldn’t go on pause and your love shouldn’t be experienced by people outside of the relationship when things are difficult. Your love should be unconditional for one person or nothing at all.

Before you say yes, get him angry. See him scared, see him wanting, see him sick. Stress changes a person. Find out if he drinks and if he does, get him drunk - you’ll learn more about his sober thoughts. Discover his addictions. See if he puts you in front of them. You can’t change people, baby girl. If they are made one way, it doesn’t just wear off. If you hate how he acts when he’s out of it now, you’re going to hate it much worse eight years down the road. You might love him to bits but it doesn’t change that some people just don’t fit.

Some nights I wish I could go back in life. Not to change shit. Just to feel a couple things twice.
