Last two days ago, I forget to tell you what did i seen in my dream! I seen my persona and @cyvorg ‘s oc predator; Kun’ta in my dream! But I can’t tell you what strange creature and i never see it like that before……

I saw this ages ago and I wanted to give it a try! I really love @cyvorg 's style and characters so I was excited to see how it would work out! This has also been sitting on my PC for a while since I was very shy about sharing it, but I keep seeing other people's OCs so I finally decided to drop it here. 😳

Anyway, the little dino there is my OC Shino, who is very curious about everything new. She is maybe a bit small here but let's just say that she is maybe a bit younger than I'd normally draw her. Something I only noticed when it was too late. 😂😅

Anyways, I love your art and for some reason also the way you draw eyes, I don't know there's something that always catches my attention for them, one day I'll have those skills huahaha

I think it's the emotions? Our brains automatically connect emotions to our eyes, but we don't express emotions through our eyes themselves but through the muscles around them. Eyebrows are a key detail to that, but also our nose, forehead, and lids. Really hard for me to express emotions on, are my yautja face. Since they don't have real eyebrows just a very thick rim-like muscle. So I try to express through the other parts of the face like the eyelids and "nose" muscles. They don't have noses but they have skin that can wrinkle when the mandibles are flexed or the upper "lip" curves. Yautja seem to have a very grim always angry kind of expression that really limits the emotion I am able to express. So sometimes I just choose a less realistic style.

I don't know if you guys have noticed but my lovely mutuals with a more "cartoon" like artstyle have very expressive faces and emotions in their yautja faces and don't seem to struggle as much with that. Good examples are @maynixe, @crowworkz, @whereisxyro and @cyvorg I can only recommend to go check and study their works.

Deviating from realism and exaggerating can help a lot! Like making eyes bigger, eyebrows more expressive. Don't be afraid to not be realistic. Realism is nothing but a flex of skills. It is impressive but also limits you a lot when it comes to expressing. Damn I wanted to help with drawing eyes now I am here.

Anyway Na'vi eyes have the Manga effect for me where the eyes are so exaggerated that it steals any kind of possibility to express through the irises and eyelids and you are limited to expressing through eyebrows and nosebridge. But expression can not only happen through the eyes and everything around them but also through the mouths and nose. I love how Tsu'tey is very expressive with his mouth muscles hehe. Again our brain will just connect the emotions the entire face expresses to our eyes.
