Ever since Little!Dino learned that otters like to hold hands, he hasn’t been able to let go of his hyungs.
- He holds onto Seungcheol’s hand in the car, on the way to schedules. It’s comforting to know that his oldest hyung is right there with him, that he won’t let anything happen to him or let any staff members be mean to him.
- Chan holds onto Jeonghan the most. He’s just so clingy! He doesn’t just hold Jeonghan’s hand, he hugs Jeonghan tightly and won’t let go for hours. That’s Mama.
- Chan holds onto Joshua when he gets upset, because he knows that Joshua will help steady him. He can always talk to Shua, always calming down and taking deep breaths with him.
- He holds Junhui’s hand and shakes them, giggling with his Jun-hyung. Jun likes to fidget and stim with his hands and Chan holds them so that he can join in too. They always end up swinging their hands together and smiling brightly. The others have no clue what’s going on over there, but Chan swears that Junhui gets it.
- He holds onto Soonyoung’s hand while they film, because little Channie does get a bit camera shy. Soonyoung-hyung gives him the confidence he needs to get out there, do his best, and be himself.
- He holds on tightly to Wonwoo’s hand while he’s sleeping because otters hold onto each other while they sleep. He’s just a baby, what if he somehow drifts off in his sleep? No, no don’t mind the fact that he’s not actually an otter sleeping in the sea and that he’s actually a human sleeping in a cozy bed indoors. Chan insists that his point still stands (and Wonwoo doesn’t mind one bit).
- Chan holds onto Jihoon’s hands when they’re in meetings, discussing albums or schedules or other important business, and he needs something to pull him back down the earth. Of course, when Chan gets spacey and his mind starts to wander and his thoughts turn all fluffy and gooey and distracted, Jihoon silently squeezes the maknae’s hand as a silent warning. And just like that, Chan’s focused again.
- He holds Seokmin’s hand when they both cross the road to go to the park across from their dorm building. Seokmin’s always game to take Chan to the park and Chan’s so eager, pulling excitedly on his hyung’s hand to “Go, go, go faster! C’mon, hyungie!”
- He insists on holding Mingyu’s hand while the older tries to cook dinner (which is very difficult, but Mingyu doesn’t dare let go of him or scold him). It’s a hassle, to cook with one hand, but Chan thinks that Mingyu doesn’t really mind it.
- He holds Minghao’s hand while he watches Minghao paint. It’s really cool when his hyung paints pretty, pretty pictures. Chan can only fingerpaint, he’s too little to make the kinds of things his Myungho-hyung does.
- Chan holds onto Seungkwan’s hands to get a rise out of him. No seriously, he does it to ragebait him. Seungkwan is always like “Chan-ah! Let go of me! So clingy, ugh…” and it makes Chan giggle at how red Seungkwan’s face gets. And he knows that his hyung doesn’t really mean it and doesn’t mind holding his hands. In fact, Chan could probably bet that Seungkwan likes it a whole lot, but what does he know?
- He holds onto Vernon’s hands (well, the sleeves on his oversized hoodie that act as hands) while they enter the airport because the airport is so scary and loud and he could get lost! Hansol-hyung knows the way, so let’s follow him! Good thinking, Channie!
And lastly, Chan holds hands with himself when he misses his hyungs or when he makes a wish on a star in the sky. Little Channie wishes for one thing and one thing only: to be together with his hyungs, forever and ever <3
