  “Good strong name,” He whispered. Watching as his former pupil tucked the child in. All the time Daud knew Cassidy, he’s never seen him act like this. Maybe Daud’s absence has caused Cassidy to finally grow up. Which was a good thing, considering the master assassin was dying. 

  Cassidy managed to take care of himself and he will continue to do so when Daud finally dies. “Yeah? I’m sure you two will figure it out.”

”Thanks-” When Daud commented on the name, he smiled proudly. Every since he’d met Daud, Cassidy had always looked up to him. Daud was a man who had his shit together and then some, while the only good things Cassidy had were in this house...and he wasn’t really allowed around.

 “Oh, an’ I hope so. Honestly, she’s a damn fine woman. I keep fuckin’ things up. But, there’s no surprise there, eh, sir?” 

When she finally relaxed, Cassidy reached forward and slapped his hand into hers to shake. It was firm, but short lived as he let her hand go.

 “Well Liz, nice t’meet ya. An’ I might’ve been around the block a few hundred times or so, but y’can never be too careful. I mean, read people all you like, there are lizard people living under the Earth, controlling the government.”

Is he joking? It’s hard to tell.

  Jonathan had been a vampire for a long time and he liked to think he could tell apart his own kind. But this man before him… He was truly an odd one. It only made the doctor curious about him. Why or how the vampire could indulge in drugs and alcohol and actually feel anything? 

  So he got up from his spot from the window and walked over to the other vampire who was at the bar. He took a seat next time. “You’re an odd fellow, you know that?”

At the comment, Cassidy just let out a boisterous laugh. Oh, this boyo didnt even have a clue. At first, instead of saying anything else. He motioned to the girl at the bar to bring his friend a bottle.

  “Oh friend, you don’ even know the half of it. Think I might’ve been odd fella bout a hundred years ago. I’ve evolved to balls to the wall nuts.”

“Well tha’sort of depends on you now, don’ it now, love?”

 When he spoke,his Irish accent evident even if he’d been gone away from home for the betterpart of the last century. But someone like him couldn’t be too careful. He hadn’tbeen particularly good about  keepinghimself out of trouble.

 “I mean if yer someone I might call a friend,”He started, with a big, toothy grin. “then I’d tell you tha’ you could call meCassidy.” And if she wasn’t- welllll that was another matter all together.
