CALLUM MATTHEW PHOENIX is an EIGHTEEN year old FRESHMAN at DALTON UNIVERSITY ACADEMY. HE is majoring in EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION and minoring in SPECIAL EDUCATION, AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE & CREATIVE WRITING. Some say he looks alot like DYLAN OâBRIEN.
CALLUM is currently a TAKEN character.
Born with Complex Congenital Heart Disease, Callum Phoenix was more than accustomed to being singled out by his peers; from being picked last in any playground game, to even having teachers bicker about whether or not to allow him into little things like school musicals or events.
He was definitely one of the unpopular kids growing up, but honestly? Middle school was the place he was targeted by bullies the most, whereas in high school, people seemed just that little bit more compassionate. Although, there were times where the compassion was overshadowed by babying him, and Callum hated it. He had been babied his entire life by his overbearing parents, and of course, he understood their reasoning and he appreciated everything they did for them, but he needed time to himself. To find himself.
Callum spent a lot of his childhood in and out of hospital, so itâs no surprise that his social skills arenât as perfected as most people his age. But with that being said, thereâs no denying the part of him that shines through when it comes to his singing. He had no experience to back it up, no school musicals he had ever been accepted into or even the school choir, but he could sing. He just needed the right person to listen.
Coming out as a Panromantic Asexual was probably one of the most defying moments in his life; his parents had been so supportive and although they didnât really understand what it meant at the time, they did extensive amounts of research to educate themselves and for that, Callum has always been so grateful.
Callum has never experienced love; sure, heâs had mild crushes on people, but heâs never been in any type of relationship. Heâs never even had his first kiss. It doesnât bother him, though⌠Okay, maybe a little bit.
He hadnât planned on going to Dalton, mainly because he didnât think he would get in. But the day that acceptance letter arrived in the mail, it felt like all his birthdays and Christmases has come at once. For once in his life, there was one thing he could be certain about; he would get to experience college. No, he canât drink or party like most people his age, but honestly, he doesnât care. Heâs taking it one day at a time and he couldnât be happier.
