When he got home, his sister had been waiting for him, claiming that they were going to have a picknick later today and they wanted him to join them. After all he and Marinette were close friends and she’d be there too. While he hadn’t known about it beforehand, and honestly he wasn’t certain if he was ready to go and meet Marinette yet after just finding out that she was the hero saving Paris every day, he eventually gave in to Juleka and headed into his room to get ready.
There wasn’t much of getting ready really though, instead he sat pondering how the revelation of today would change the friendship between him and the other. Sure, she’s a hero, but it didn’t have to change a thing right? After all, she knew he was Viperion, now he just knew who she was too … Nothing wrong with that, right? Laying back on his bed, he closed his eyes, listening to the soft sound of the water outside as he tried to just relax a bit.
It was a few hours later when Juleka entered his room without knocking, telling him to get up and going or he’d be late. But when asked why she wasn’t coming along when he headed out, she’d simply smiled and said she had to go pick something else up first. So with a shrug, he’d set out to go and find the spot of the picknick near the Eiffel Tower.
With his guitar slung over his back, he entered the park and looked around, hoping to find some of his friends but when he noticed that only Marinette was there, he couldn’t help but frown. This was … odd? “They’re not coming are they?” He asked out loud as he approached her, setting his guitar down in the grass with a slight smile. “Our friends really are something, aren’t they? Setting up these meetings for us like this …”
Of course Luka was well aware that they were capable of these things, they’d done it before with Adrien, he’d heard Juleka go on and on about plans in this style before, but he had never considered they’d use it on him too. “So uh, … I guess it’s gonna be just the two of us, I hope you don’t mind it too much?”
The tips of her paled ears perked at the sound of a melodically recognisable voice. Eyeing him closely and absently as he sat beside her, the warmth of the sun tinted her ears pink. Slowly, realisation settled in at the conniving mischievousness of her friends. This couldn’t be happening! “....Oooo they’ll get a piece of me for this! Me and my pére prepared this for all of us... there will be too many...” she rambled in her clumsy way, unsure how to hide her emotions but express them more maturely. Spending a few moments of silence, returning to reality after her complaining, blue orbs observed her companion Luka, who looked gleaming in the light of the setting sun. Seeing his slight smile, it brought one to her lips, contagious emotions from Luka, as always. “They’re really something...” she added softly, staring at him a little daydreamy in their picturesque setting. Nimble fingers pulled out the delicious snacks she had brought. Fresh croissants, pain au chocolat, mini baguettes with a variety of fillings, little slices of cake and other sweet desserts.
“It’s fine with me. We might as well enjoy ourselves whilst we’re here... and uh - not let this food go to waste! Please, help yourself,”
