Mermaid Activities 🐚🌺🫧🌊
SEASHELL HAIRBRUSH
Did you know you can make your own mermaid hairbrush at home? All you need are sea shells (either ones you have collected or if not just buy some pretty ones you like), pearls and glue! You can also use nail polish to make the sea shells look prettier and dreamy. Here are some examples:
2. SWIMMING AND SURFING
Obviously you can't be a mermaid if you don't swim. Even if you prefer tanning over being in the sea, even just sitting nearby the waves on the sand will feel better. Also if you have the chance to take up surfing classes then don't waste it (think about Merliah from Barbie in A Mermaid Tale).
3. ISLAND FOOD & TV INSPIRED
For a mermaid, her eating habits are very important. She eats whole food meals, and at the same time light ones so she can swim later on. Island food is mainly consistent of fruits, seafood, yogurt bowls and colourful drinks. Also you can try recipes from your favorite mermaid movies (ex. pickled beetroot and poi from Barbie in a Mermaid Tale or Juicenet Cafe drinks from h2o Just Add Water).
4. CUTE ACCESSORIES
Again you can either buy them or make them. For example you can make a sea shell necklace similar to Merliah's from Barbie in A Mermaid Tale. Also some of the cutest accessories to own for summer are leg bracelets! They are everywhere on islands and you can buy them pretty cheap too. And then beautiful flower hair clips in hot pink or pastel blue.
5. GLITTER, GLITTER AND GLITTER!
Use glitter literally anywhere you want. There are a lot of fragances that contain glitter so your whole body will shimmer. Or shimmery eyeshadow, hair glitter, and a lot of highliter (especially at the inner corner of your eyes). For the glitter fragances, I recommend coconut, vanilla, flower and fresh scents!
6. CREATE SUMMER PLAYLISTS
Putting on the right music will always set the vibe. There are a lot of mermaid playlists that exist already on music apps like spotify, but making your own is always more fun. I prefer more pop and upbeat songs like Lush Life, Starships, 3 Strikes and Lean On, but of course if you want a more ethereal and siren aesthetic you can create a different one!
7. GIRLY SPORTS
Being active matters a lot, not only to keep your body in shape, but also stay healthy. Some sports you can try are beach volley, running, yoga or pilates. Of course you shall do lots of walking and swimming too! These suggestions are good for building stamina and fun too!
8. DECORATE YOUR SPACE
Choose one room in your house to express your self in by decorating it. That could be either your bedroom or even your desk. Just choose the one you spend the most time in. If you take for example the h2o Just Add Water girls' bedrooms for example, they are colourful, beach wallpapers, flowers and sea shells up in their walls, pictures of themselves with their friends.
9. HENNA TATTOOS
Another fun activity to do yourself or with friends are henna tattoos! Basically you can buy a henna tattoo kit and draw cute things on your arms, a bit more up on your waist line, basically everywhere on your body. Henna tattoos stay between one to three weeks, so you can make new tattoos often! Some cute summer designs include turtles, flowers, sea shells, butterflies and dolphins.
10. BE OUTSIDE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE
Summer is finally the time for a break from all the burdens of daily life. So instead of staying in your house all day and doing nothing, hang out with your friends! If you don't have friends, then join social activities like sports to make some and stop being shy! Some hang out ideas are: at the beach, at a certain cute cafe to make your hang out spot, walking around new neighberhoods you have never visited.
11. CONSUME MERMAID MEDIA
Watching the right shows can actually help you set the vibe better. Mermaid media can include everything from movies to books and magazines. Some of my favorite ones are: Barbie in A Mermaid Tale, h2o Just Add Water, Aquamarine, The Little Mermaid, Ponyo, Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, A Lull in The Sea.
Anime popular in 2020 Anitok that are completely forgotten now
MOST FAMOUS:
Kakegurui
Bungou No Stray Dogs
Noragami
The Seven Deadly Sins
The Promised Neverland
Especially Kakegurui was everywhere on tiktok back in 2020. It was mostly this trend with each of the girls' voices (if you were there then you will know exactly what I am talking about) but like they were a lot of viral tiktoks with kakegurui sounds and stuff.
Dazai from Bungou No Stray Dogs was THE anime crush of the time fr. He had this viral sound too with this deep voice and a lot of girls back in the day watched the anime because of him. Saddly now he is pretty unknown to newer fans.
About Noragami and The Seven Deadly Sins, they were included with anime like Mha and Bleach. But now almost none knows them, especially Noragami. Like, what happened to them?
The Promised Neverland is still big tbh but back in 2020 it was even bigger. Rei was taking over the internet within younger girls mostly and the memes were going crazy from this anime. I guess its popularity fell off because season 2 was shit.
FAMOUS BECAUSE OF A CHARACTER:
Assassination Classroom
Black Butler
Angels of Death
Darling in the Franxx
Seraph of the End
When it comes to Assassination Classroom and Black Butler, they were really popular for the anime itself too, but a certain character helped raise their popularity a bit more. New fans will never understand how big Karma was with girl fans. Him and Bakugou were every girls' crush. Now Sebastian will always be big, let's be honest.
Zack from Angels of Death was included in those anime psychos tiktoks along with Karma. He also had the same voice actor with Bakugou so, yeah, he was popular with girls.
Darling in the Franxx was one of the few anime that a girl character was more popular than a boy. This video with Zero Two dancing to a particular song was everywhereee. Most anime wallpapers was with her too.
The male characters from Seraph of the End were inlcuded in every tiktok when it came to anime crushes. However most people hadn't watched the anime, they just liked the characters. There were a lot of tiktok edits of Guren as well.
PRACTICALLY UNKNOWN NOW:
Angel Beats!
Another
Toradora
Re:zero
You will never understand the impact Angel Beats! had if you weren't there. New fans say this anime is underrated while back in 2020 was one of the most popular ones. If you went to myanimelist it was on top with anime like Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, like it was very highly-rated.
Another had become popular through this "Anime are not for kids" trend. Like, they would show scary anime scenes so they can fight back anime haters, mostly from Another and Blood C+. Also there is this scene of a girl falling into an umbrella and dying, very bloody. That scene was everywhere on tiktok, there was not a single chance you hadn't seen it.
Even if it was a romance anime, Toradora was popular even among those who didn't like that genre. For example a lot of boys had seen that anime, even if they hated the romance genre. It is not that it's completely unknown now, but it is very hated among the anime romance fans community. In my opinion, it was a fun anime, but everyone can believe whatever they want.
Those twin girls with the maid outfits from Re:zero were everywhere bro, like everywhere. People didn't really watch that anime, but they were a lot of edits of those girls. It is a simillar situation with Zero Two so you pretty much understand what I am talking about.
Glow Up Guide [Yui Komori]
APPEARANCE
list of the things we are focusing on:
◦ weight loss
◦ skincare
◦ soft girl aesthetic (clothes, make-up, hair)
W̳E̳I̳G̳H̳T̳ ̳L̳O̳S̳S̳: Yui, as implied in the anime a lot of times, is a very skinny girl. That's why Ayato also makes fun of her for her flat chest. So if you want to glow up like Yui Komori, the first step would be weight loss (if you want or need one).
—She weights 45kg (99lbs) and her height is 1.58cm (5'1 feet). So she weights 13kg (28lbs) lower than her height. That's how we calculate our BMI and find the perfect weight for us. If you want to gain similar body propotions to hers, then you have to be 13kg (28Ibs) down from your height as well.
ex. 1.75cm (5'7 feet) has to weight 62kg (136Ibs) to have a body like Yui Komori's.
!BE CAREFULL! Her body may be in a healthy BMI rage, however she is still considered underweight.
!ALSO! Asians tend to have more body fat than other races which results for their "normal weight" to be way lower than what "normal weight" is considered in other places. That's why if you are not Asian, you may want to add to that number, ex. from 13kg (28Ibs) make it around 10-8kg (22-17Ibs).

𝓢𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓓𝓲𝓮𝓽 𝓣𝓲𝓹𝓼 𝓫𝔂 𝓨𝓾𝓲 𝓚𝓸𝓶𝓸𝓻𝓲:
Yui loves cooking and it's safe to assume she cooks her every meal. Reduce junk food and instead do what Yui does and eat only homemade meals.
Drink a lot of water. Each day make sure to drink at least 2L of water and track your progress maybe on an app or something.
Move every day and walk a lot! Walking is the best exercise to make you loose weight. Take it easy and start with 5k steps every day and then add till you can walk 10k steps a day. Again download a step tracker for help.
Make olive oil your main source of fat. I see so many people avoiding it like it is something bad while it's very benefitical just in a small portion.
Talking about portions, reduce your meals' portions. Eating whatever you want just in a small portion is the best tip for quick weight loss.
If you want to take it a step further, exercise 3x a week for a toned body. You can do one day of upper body (arms, abs), one day of lower body (booty, legs) and one day of small waist workout for quicker results.
If you feel like eating a sweet or something unhealthy with loads of calories, eat it in the morning. Even if you don't move at all you are going to burn everything you ate in the morning.
-
𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓭 𝓓𝓲𝓮𝓽 𝓟𝓵𝓪𝓷:
—We are focusing on soft, light and warm foods/drinks that reflect Yui's sweet and gentle spirit. Simple foods but beautifully plated portions.
Breakfast: banana pancakes, greek yogurt bowl (with fruits or nuts), avocado toast, veggie omelette, overnight oats.
Mid-Morning Snack: fruits, (green) tea, lemon water, coffee.
Lunch: chicken/beef/fish with pasta/rice/sweet potato and salad, risotto, tortilla wrap, noodles, japanese lunch boxes.
Sweet Treat: a piece of chocolate, mochi, one tiny donut, tiny fruit tart.
Afternoon Snack: fruits, (green) tea, lemon water, rice crackers, cucumber slices, a protein bar.
Dinner: same as lunch, miso/veggie/chicken/fish/tomato soup.
S̳K̳I̳N̳C̳A̳R̳E̳: Yui may be shamed by Ayato for her flat chest but none can shame her for her pretty face. Enhanching your natural face requaires make-up and the perfect canvas for make-up is a clear skin.
—We see on tik tok and other social media platforms girls having 11-steps skincare and influencing their viewers that this is the only possible way to get clear skin. Well, this is a MYTH.
—You literally only need 3 steps to establish a good skincare routine and have a "mochi skin" (as clear skin is called in j-beauty). A basic routine of a teenager girl is consisted of:
𝓜𝓸𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰:
Cleanser
Moisturizer
Sun screen
𝓝𝓲𝓰𝓱𝓽:
Make-up remover: ex. oil cleanser, micellar water, etc.
Cleanser
(Acne treatment)
Moisturizer
!DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON PRODUCTS RECOMMENED ON TIK TOK! Literally half of the influencers you see recommending them may not even like them or have tried them. It's better to visit a dermatologist if you have skin problems like acne, than trying random products that may make your acne worst.
-
𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓶𝓮𝓷𝓭𝓮𝓭 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓭𝓾𝓬𝓽𝓼 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓮𝓪𝓬𝓱 𝓼𝓴𝓲𝓷 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓬𝓮𝓻𝓷:
Dark eye circles: rohto melano cc vitamin c essence (japanese skincare), warm tea bags, cold cucumber slices.
Puffiness: keana nadeshiko rice mask (japanese skincare) ice cubes, cold water, reduce salt before bed.
Hyperpigmentation (ex. dark spots, acne scars, etc.): shiseido haku melanofocus z (japanese skincare), hada labo shirojyun premium gel cream (japanese skincare), drink barely tea, eat vitamin c-rich foods.
Dryness/Redness: minon amino moist charge milk – amino acids & ceramides (japanese skincare), curél intensive moisture cream – barrier repair cream (japanese skincare), avoid hot showers, drink barely tea.
Black heads/Large pores: rosette gommage peeling gel (japanese skincare), sana nameraka honpo soy milk pore serum (japanese skincare), double cleanse daily, drink green tea.
Wrinkles: shiseido ultimune power infusing serum (japanese skincare), hada labo gokujyun alpha lifting cream (japanese skincare), cold faces rinses, facial messages.
!REMEMBER! Take advice from a dermatologist or search up the internet before you buy any of these. Be careful not to mix certain ingredients together (ex. vitamin c & retinol), and look up if the suit your skin type.

C̳L̳O̳T̳H̳E̳S̳: Yui's style is delicate and sweet, reflecting her gentle and innocent personality. So we are going to follow the soft, shoujo girl fashion. Romantic, elegant, and doll-like style!
𝓒𝓪𝓼𝓾𝓪𝓵 𝓬𝓵𝓸𝓽𝓱𝓮𝓼 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓮𝓿𝓮𝓻𝔂𝓭𝓪𝔂:

Long wool coat

Beret or knitted hat
—I know it's hard for such clothes to be found outside of Asia and America so here are some recommended cheap stores that may satisfy you: YesStyle, Aliexpress/Taobao, Shein/Romwe, H&M, Forever 21.
M̳A̳K̳E̳-̳U̳P̳: Yui Komori appears soft and innocent. Her make-up is natural but at the same time enchanches her features. She follows the make-up most Japanese girls do and it is called "Igari Make-up".
𝓣𝓲𝓹𝓼 𝓸𝓷 𝓯𝓸𝓵𝓵𝓸𝔀𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓽𝓱𝓲𝓼 𝓶𝓪𝓴𝓮-𝓾𝓹:
Before starting with make-up you have to do your skincare. You don't need a lot of things, just a moisturizer (and a toner if you want). Remember to let them be absorbed for at least five minutes each.
For the base choose a lightweight foundation, or a BB cream, or a coloured sunscreen (this is what I use as well). If you have any blemishes you want to cover up then use a concealer lighter than your shade of course. Lastly, choose a blush with a pink undertone and apply on the apples of your cheeks. Cream blush works the best for a glowly finish.
For the eyes choose soft pastel shades like light pink, levander and peach. Apply it on your eye lids and with a touch of shimmer in the inner corners it will brighten the eyes. For the eyeliner go with a brown one for a soft look and do a tiny wing. Curl your eyelashes and put a thin layer of mascara. The last and most important thing is aegyo sal. I can't explain it here so I suggest you to look up tutorials.
For the lips, a soft pink or peach lip tint will keep things subtle and youthful. You can also opt for a clear or light pink gloss for a plump, natural look. The focus is on a natural pout.
—Again, it's better to look up for a tutorial on igari make-up if you are a begginer on make-up and specifically japanese-style make-up. Here are the ones I suggest: 1st video, 2nd video
H̳A̳I̳R̳: The overall vibe of Yui's hair is to enhance her natural and youthful appearance. We want to achieve soft movement and healthy shine, along with some simple but feminine hairstyles.
𝓦𝓱𝓪𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓬𝓾𝓽 𝓽𝓸 𝓪𝓼𝓴 𝓯𝓸𝓻:
—The most important thing to do if you want to achieve that soft movement and natural volume Yui's hair have is to ask for the right haircut. We don't care about the length, short or long, you can do whatever you want. What we care about is:
• Light layers (not choppy or too sharp)
• Soft face framing pieces
• Optional: wispy bangs or curtains bangs
—However first check if this haircut suits your face shape. The ones that are safe are people with oval, heart-shaped and square face shape. The ones that need a slight adjustment are round faces and long faces.
• If you have a round face make sure to get: long layers starting below the chin, long curtain bangs, keep volume lower and not at the cheeks.
• If you have a long face make sure to get: full or curtain bangs, add volume at the sides, prefer a shorter length (ex. mid-chest).
𝓨𝓾𝓲'𝓼 𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓻𝓸𝓾𝓽𝓲𝓷𝓮:
—Again it depends on your hair porosity. If you have damaged hair then you most likely have high porosity hair and need a lot of treatments and products to soften them. If you have very healthy hair then you have low porosity hair. Now if you are in between you have medium porosity hair.
• Routine for high porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, conditioner every wash, deep hair mask 1x or 2x a week (this is a must), leave-in mask and oil to seal it 1x a week. Avoid heat at all costs!
• Routine for medium porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, conditioner every wash, hair mask 1x a week, serum (optional in case you need help with frizz), lightweight hair oil in little amounts (1 or 2 drops). Use heat protection before styling!
• Routine for low porosity hair: shampoo 3x a week, a clarifying shampoo for buil-up 1x a month, light conditioner every wash, hair mask 1x a week (better results if you wrap a warm towel on your head after applying and leave it for 15 minutes), hair oil (1 drop max). Avoid heavy formulas, heavy butters and silicones!
—Now there are other things to consider when making a hair routine, like the thickness of the hair, your hair concern (oily scalp, dry & frizzy, damaged) and your hair type (straight, wavy, curly) but hair porosity is the main category we should base our routine.
𝓗𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓬𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓹𝓻𝓸𝓭𝓾𝓬𝓽 𝓼𝓾𝓰𝓰𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼:
• For high porosity hair: Kracie Ichikami moisturising shampoo & conditioner, Muji damage care hair mask moisture, Ichikami moisturising treatment mask, &Honey deep moist hair oil, Ichikami damage repair hair oil serum.
• For medium porosity hair: Shiseido Tsubaki premium moist shampoo, &Honey melty moist conditioner, Fino premium touch hair mask, Ichikami hair serum, Oshima Tsubaki camellia oil.
• For low porosity hair: Shiseido Tsubaki volume touch shampoo, Ouai detox shampoo (as a clarifying shampoo), &Honey silky smooth conditioner, Fino premium touch hair mask, Oshima Tsubaki camellia oil.
EXTRA: 𝓢𝓸𝓶𝓮 𝓱𝓪𝓲𝓻𝓼𝓽𝔂𝓵𝓮𝓼 𝓼𝓾𝓰𝓰𝓮𝓼𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓼:
• Loose natural waves (signature look)
• Half-up half-down, you can add a bow too
• Low ponytail
A/N: I have been making this for MONTHS now and I actually wanted to add more but then it would be too long. Anyway, hope you enjoyed it!
Writing Class 101: Gothic Novels 🪦🦇
—Gothic fiction is a literary aesthetic of fear and haunting. The name of the genre is derived from the Renaissance-era use of the word "gothic", as a pejorative term meaning medieval and barbaric, which itself originated from Gothic architecture. (external source: wikipedia)
—Gothic fiction is strongly associated with the Gothic Revival architecture of 18th and 19th century. English Gothic writers often associated medieval buildings with what they saw as a dark and terrifying period. The literary Gothic embodies an appreciation of the joys of extreme emotion, the thrills of fearfulness and awe inherent in the sublime, and a quest for atmosphere. Gothic ruins invoke multiple linked emotions by representing the collapse of human creations and inevitable decay. (external source: wikipedia)
ROMANCE & GOTHIC LITERATURE:
From the castles, dungeons, forests, and hidden passages of the Gothic fiction genre emerged the subgenre, female Gothic. The female Gothic allowed women's societal and sexual desires to be introduced. According to author, Jane Austen. Gothic fiction shaped its form for woman readers to "turn to Gothic romances to find support for their own mixed feelings." Enjoying reading about their hidden desires but with affected indifference or momentary shame. (external source: wikipedia)
Gothic romance novels of 18th & 19th century:
• Wuthering Heights by Emily Brontë
• Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
• The Castles of Athlin and Dunbayne by Ann Radcliffe
• A Sicilian Romance by Ann Radcliffe
• Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen
[In general the author Ann Radcliffe shaped the gothic romance subgenre with her works listed above but also The Italian, The Romance of the Forest, The Mystery of Udolpho.]
Modern gothic romance novels:
• Fallen series by Lauren Kate (personal favourite)
• The Vampire Diaries by L. J. Smith
• Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
• Nine Coaches Waiting by Mary Stewart
• The Silver Kiss by Annette Curtis Klause
[It was a actually so hard finding modern books of 2020 whose plot didn't center around smut. Also Daphne du Maurier is a modern author famous for her gothic love stories and is a good start to the gothic romance subgenre.]
HOW TO WRITE A GOTHIC NOVEL:
—A typical gothic novel includes: a simple, yet powerful story, a mysterious and dark atmosphere through the whole story, impactful characters with a rich emotional world, castles, a forest, a dungeon, and supernatural beings.
1: WHAT DOES THE SUPERNATURAL THEME IN YOUR STORY REPRESENTS? For example, if you are going to write about a blood-thirsty vampire don't limit its character to being flirtatious and sexy. Usually vampires represent the dark self of human beings, the ones with no logic and just act on their animalistic desires — because as Aristotle said, a human with no logic is no different than a wild animal. This doesn't only apply to supernatural beings but any supernatural theme you choose to apply in your story.
2: IMAGINATION IS STRONGER THAN VISUAL IMAGES, SO DESCRIBE. The thing most authors struggle with when they begin their gothic novel is setting the atmosphere. You can't write a gothic novel but describe everything like rainbows and sunshines. You need to find your inner melancholy and darkness and then imprint it into your story with your own unique way. Remember, when describing don't only include vision, but all the five senses — vision, smell, hearing, taste, touch. If you want to make the progress easier, everytime you want to describe something find inspiration online or try to draw on paper what you are imagining. Also use a lot of metaphors, similes, personifications and in general figures of speech.
3: MAKE IT AS EMOTIONALLY RICH AS POSSIBLE, SADDNESS, HAPPINESS, ANGER AND THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, FEAR/THRILL. Make your reader feel ashamed for your protagonist's actions, but at the same time thrilled at the new feeling. That's what the use of "the forbidden" does. That's why so many people are drawn to it, because it creates a mix of emotions, both good and bad, and that's exactly what gothic novels do best. Don't be afraid to experiment, get mixed up with your ideas or cause terror to your readers. You think they will pull away, but actually the way you handle "weird" plots makes them pull away, not cause of the plot itself.
“Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it.” - Donna Tartt
4: USE ALL SOURCES OF FREE INSPIRATION THAT YOU HAVE IN YOUR HANDS. People think you get inspired only from books, or movies or in general stories of other people that you mix up and make your own. That is wrong. Use music, art (my favourite is looking up at paintings), anything from this world around you. Especially now with free access to almost everything through the internet it's very easy to find inspiration beyond other stories.
Those are my tips that I found after a big amount of research, but I want to include some other tips that I found on the internet so you guys can get a larger view.
5: Past & Present: The past plays an important role in the present story as if it is a living, breathing thing. The past becomes present through apparitions, prophecies, curses, familial secrets, symbolisms and embodied trauma. (external source janefriedman)
6: Slow Pacing: If used correctly it won't make your book boring or annoying to readers. Instead use slow pacing in the right moments to create suspense for the readers, but also as a fresh calming breath before something big happens later on. (external source janefriedman)
Go check this post about writing a gothic novel. It's an amazing post that explores deeply the genre and it's written by the author of A Dowry Of Blood, S. T. Gibson! I wanted to include all her tips in this post but she explains them so well, it's better to read the whole original post.
A/N: And that was it! I hope you guys enjoyed my analysis and helped you with your novel. Remember your first draft doesn't have to be good, and no draft will ever be perfect, so don't push yourselves!

-> You are a seventeen year old girl living in a small town in Japan. It's autumn and the reddish leaves are falling along with the raindrops from the clouds. You grip your umbrella tightly as the strong wind plays with your hair. Suddenly, you hear whispers. They are calling your name. But you are alone, who could it be?
🍂 .° ꩜ autumn 2010, vampire knight, love triangle, gothic novels, romance, fangs.
CHAPTER 2: FULLY EMBODYING IT
-> chapter 1
Vampire Media
So since we are talking about a vampire anime we are going to focus mostly on japanese media but also media popular in Japan in the early 2010s.
𝔸𝕟𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥 = Vampire Knight, Diabolik Lovers, Devil's Line, Dance with Devils, Shiki, Hellsing, Vampire Hunter D, Trinity Blood, Kurozuka, Blood: The Last Vampire, Night Walker: The Midnight Detective.
𝕄𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕒 𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥 (obviously the anime listed above included) = Vampire Kisses, Blood Hound, Midnight Secretary, Castlevania, RustBlaster, Model, Omae ga Sekai wo Kowashitai nara, Honey Blood.
𝔹𝕠𝕠𝕜 𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥 = Dracula, Interview with a Vampire, Vampire Academy, Evermore (The Immortals #1), Marked (House of Night #1), Twilight, The Vampire Diaries.
𝕄𝕠𝕧𝕚𝕖/𝕊𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕥 = The Vampire Diaries, Nosferatu, Twilight, Thirst (korean film), Hotel Transylvania, Sleepy Hallow, Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Music
This category also plays a big role and we are going to focus on three genres: classical music, vkei, anime soundtracks.
𝕍𝕜𝕖𝕚 (bands to start from) = Malice Mizer, Plastic Tree, Dadaroma, Moi dix Mois, Kagrra, Kiryu, Jiluka.
𝔸𝕟𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕕𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕜𝕤 from the anime listed above. Some of the most famous ones from them are for Vampire Knight made by the band ON/OFF, the Diabolik Lovers openings from both season 1 and season 2.
ℂ𝕝𝕒𝕤𝕤𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕝 (some staples to start from) = Tchaikovsky – Swan Lake (Act II), Saint-Saëns – Danse Macabre, Bach – Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Chopin – Nocturnes, Liszt – Liebestraum No. 3, Debussy – Clair de Lune, Beethoven – Moonlight Sonata, Vivaldi – Winter, Vivaldi – Summer, Mozart – Lacrimosa, Handel – Sarabande.
Personality/Vibes
I am not going to force you to change yourself, but I will list some positive traits of those protagonists that you can try incorporating for your own improvement. Don't forget that their biggest strength is staying true to their selves.
𝕐𝕦𝕜𝕚 ℂ𝕣𝕠𝕤𝕤 = Kind, respectful, calm, helpful, brave.
𝕐𝕦𝕚 𝕂𝕠𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕚 = Sweet, caring, optimistic, strong-willed.
𝕋𝕤𝕦𝕜𝕒𝕤𝕒 𝕋𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕒 = Gentle, caring, responsible, mature, patient.
ℝ𝕚𝕥𝕤𝕦𝕜𝕒 𝕋𝕒𝕔𝕙𝕚𝕓𝕒𝕟𝕒 = Compassionate, strong-willed, optimistic, caring.
Hobbies
Stay busy. Don't scroll on social media and instead romanticize your life by trying different hobbies. Put yourself out there and don't hide in the shadows.
𝔸𝕣𝕥𝕚𝕤𝕥𝕚𝕔 𝕙𝕠𝕓𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕤 = Reading books, writing novels or even a dairy, drawing or sketching, playing an instrument, calligraphy.
𝔸𝕥𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕡𝕙𝕖𝕣𝕚𝕔 𝕙𝕠𝕓𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕤 = Stargazing or sky gazing, collecting things like flowers or postcards, tea rituals even with yourself, herbal knowledge like flowers, scents or teas.
ℙ𝕙𝕪𝕤𝕚𝕔𝕒𝕝 𝕙𝕠𝕓𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕤 = Light stretching or yoga, walking especially at dusk or nighttime, dancing like ballet or contemporary, archery or fencing if you have access to it.
ℂ𝕦𝕝𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕒𝕝 𝕙𝕠𝕓𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕤 (famous among teenagers in 2010s Japan) = Visit manga cafes or just regular cozy ones, decorate your phone with charms, photography, fashion coordination.
𝕊𝕠𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕙𝕠𝕓𝕓𝕚𝕖𝕤 (very important) = Being part of a small club in your high school, helping someone or even volunteering, join a sports team.
Daily Routine
And with that I am going to write a daily routine for high school students based on my guide that you can of course incorporate and customize. This is an example of a day following my guide.
.𝕊𝕒𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕕𝕒𝕪, 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘.
You are going to wake up pretty early, like 8:00am, when it's cold and misty outside. Drink some water and slowly awaken your body by opening the curtains and putting on some soft classical music. If you want, you can also add a light stretching or a yoga session.
Later on, you are going to do your skincare and eat a light but delicious breakfast. After about an hour, 9:00am, you should start doing your homework for Monday. If you don't have homework, you can pick another activity to do from the ones listed in my guide.
Before lunch, at 11:30am, you are going to get ready in a cute and comfy outfit and go out around your neighborhood. Don't forget to bring a manga or a book to read outside in nature after you finish walking.
Finally, you come back at 1:00pm for lunch. While eating, you can watch some vampire anime or TV series. Till 2:30pm you can do whatever you want, it's a break time.
When you are done eating and relaxing, you are gonna pick anything to do from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. You can either focus on your appearance, or consume some more vampire media, or do a hobby from the ones listed above. Even if it's just listening to vkei and relaxing on your bed.
You will start getting ready to hang out with your close friends at 6:00pm. Don't forget to grab a snack before you go! The hang out can be at a lot of places, but I suggest bookstores, rooftops, gardens or anywhere outside in nature, cafes, old buildings or historic areas. The key to the place is that it has to be quiet and not too crowded.
At one point, around 9:00-10:00pm you are going to want to take a walk alone in the dusk/night (if it's safe of course!). I recommend calm hallways, close to trees, not too many people. Ditch the headphones and hear the sounds of nature instead.
Finally at 12:00pm you are going to slowly wind down for sleep. Drink some tea, dim the lights, read something or write in your diary, watch something, stargaze, etc.
A/N: That's it! Thank you so much to everyone who liked this guide and I hope you get inspired by it or even follow it.

CHAPTER 1: SETTING THE VIBE
-> chapter 2
Fashion
You will need three standard outfits in total. First the school uniform, second the casual off-duty outfit and third an outfit for special occasions.
𝕜𝕖𝕪 𝕔𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕤 : black, browns, deep crimson, purples, navy blues, whites (in general more cool and natural colours).
𝕊𝕔𝕙𝕠𝕠𝕝 𝕦𝕟𝕚𝕗𝕠𝕣𝕞 = A pleated skirt that stops mid-thigh or flared/bootcut jeans. Long blouses sometimes with ruffles at the collar or cuffs, off-shoulder sweaters, turtle neck tight shirts. Jackets that stop at the waist or longer blazers. Simple white sneakers or loafers or mary jane shoes. Headbands, black ribbons, silver accessories.
.examples
ℂ𝕒𝕤𝕦𝕒𝕝 𝕠𝕗𝕗-𝕕𝕦𝕥𝕪 = Loose sweaters or cardigans, lace blouses, peacoats or trench coats with belts. Mini skirts with tights or leggings, again flared/bootcut jeans. Knee-high boots or platforms. Chokers, fingerless gloves, silver accessories, subtle hair accessories.
.examples
𝕊𝕡𝕖𝕔𝕚𝕒𝕝 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 = Velvet dresses with lace sleeves, corset tops, jean mini skirts.
.examples
In general, we are focusing on simple clothing and outfits, that mostly show off the figure instead. Choose one tight fit and one loose every time (for example flared jeans with a loose sweater).
Hair & Makeup
ℍ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕔𝕦𝕥𝕤 : 1) Long straight hair with curtain bangs/full bangs/side bangs. 2) Long hair with soft curls at the end. 3) Mid-length layered cuts.
ℂ𝕠𝕝𝕠𝕣𝕤 : Natural colors like black, brown shades, dirty blonde, dark ginger, etc. Again focus on cool, ashy tones.
𝕊𝕥𝕪𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 : Low ponytails, half-up styles, low buns.
We are focusing on shiny, healthy hair rather than the haircuts or colors and stuff. You can achieve this by reducing heat, hair masks once a week and hair oils for the ends.
𝕄𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕦𝕡 𝕥𝕦𝕥𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕒𝕝 (you skip and add steps based on the occasion):
Natural matte base = Sunscreen with color or bb cream. Concealer on the center of the forehead, under the eyes, each side of the nose and lips, center of the chin. Blush and contouring based on your face type.
Eyes = Soft dark brown eyeliner rather than black with a small wing or smudged black eye pencil or dark eyeshadow in shades of brown and gray.
Lips = We want to keep them natural so a clear gloss or a pink lip tint.
.example
Body
I included this category because I think a key characteristic of such a protagonist is feeling always light. We don't want our food to make us feel bloated and full to the point of barely walking but instead to fill us with energy.
𝔻𝕚𝕖𝕥 = Healthy and light meals like rice with chicken and veggies, soups, grilled fish with veggies, salads with tofu or chicken, boiled eggs, oatmeal, noodles.
𝔽𝕠𝕔𝕦𝕤 on vegetables, fruits, lean meat, protein from eggs or olive oil and yogurt, carbs from rice or oats and bread. 𝔸𝕧𝕠𝕚𝕕 heavy fried foods, excessive sugar and energy drinks.
ℍ𝕒𝕓𝕚𝕥𝕤 = Walking, biking, maybe running, eating slowly, avoid heavy meals and focus on smaller ones but more meals through the day.
Decoration
I believe decorating your bedroom or any other space in which you sit a lot will improve the vibe we are trying to achieve. For now I am going to focus on the bedroom, because that's the main space for everyone, but you can also incorporate it for your desk or any other space you want.
𝕎𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕤 = I suggest painting in light colors and making the decoratings dark instead, so white or soft creams and light grays. Maybe you can try painting only one small wall a different color like midnight blue, burgundy, bloody red or dark purple. Choose cool lighting to match the cool colors.
𝔹𝕖𝕕 = Simple dark wood bed with velvet or satin bedding again in white or soft creams. You can throw some smaller pillows for decoration, like bats or your favorite animal.
𝕊𝕙𝕖𝕝𝕧𝕚𝕟𝕘 = Simple dark wood shelves for vampire media like manga, anime figures, other things you like. Again I suggest keeping things simple because this is not a gothic guide but an everyday girl guide that is really not an everyday girl. Vintage style boxes for your jewelry.
ℙ𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕋𝕠𝕦𝕔𝕙𝕖𝕤 = Posters of your favourite vampire media and bands, antique-style clock, small vases with dried roses, scented candles.
A/N: That's it! Thank you so much to everyone who liked this guide and I hope you get inspired by it or even follow it.
24 Days of Studio Ghibli Movies
→ DAY 1: PONYO
Story: 8/10 / Pacing: 7/10 / Visuals: 100/10
- Overall score: 8/10 -
I knew I could expect amazing art and animation from that studio, but wow, Studio Ghibli really surpassed themselves with this one. The small sea-village setting made me fall in love and the way I could notice how the background was drawn by hand made the visuals even better. Sosuke and Ponyo were such a cute duo and I loved the pure, innocent, enormous love they shared for each other. Worth mentioning is also Sosuke's mom. Hayao Miyazaki always portrays women as they should be: strong, hard-working, yet caring and sensitive. I can see through his movies that he loves them instead of underestimating them.
Now, there wasn't anything I didn't like in particular. It was an enjoyable movie, but it is mostly aimed at young children. Of course that does not mean it can't be enjoyable to an adult, yet for me it was a bit boring. Overall, it left me with good impressions.
See you in Day 2!
