Here’s the first pattern that I ever wrote. It’s called “Sleep Tight, Baby” night cap! I have it on Ravelry for FREE. Check it out & feel free to let me know what you think. I would love to see what everyone else would do with this!!

I want to take a moment tonight to pass along some information on MY NEW FAVORITE KNITTING TECHNIQUE EVER!

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present… German Short Rows

I like this technique way better than the wrap and turn method, because it’s invisible! That’s right, no awkward loops. Seamless short rows. If you don’t believe me, do yourself a favor and watch the tutorial video above. (The video is not mine, it’s just a very helpful one I found on youtube.)

Watch the video, and then try it! The other thing I love about this is that it’s simple! I watched the video once, slept on it (the idea, not the video or the knitting) and tried it out the next morning without even consulting the video a second time. And trust me when I say I have no short term memory, especially for anything complicated. Who knew such a slight modification could result in such beautiful work?!

I’m modifying the knitted cat pattern I’m working on right now to use German short rows rather than w&t short rows. And I’m tempted to go back and do the same for my knitted bunny pattern before I release it. This is a game-changer.
