Cuckoo Young Writers

Today has been a very big day in the days of Cuckoo. We have a lot of big days, let's be honest, but today has been especially big.

We are in preparation for two BIG things (how many times am I going to say 'big' in this post?).

One of these big things I am not sure whether I can talk about, so I won't, but I promise to tell you as soon as I find out whether I can or not. It is very big though.

The second of the big things I can talk about and that is Cuckoo Shop. Over the next two weekends, we are taking over Empty Shop in Durham, transforming into an interactive, hip and hopping place for perfect (and, in my case, not very perfect) writing to be produced.

We have been working on writing prompts, Cuckoo eggs and even had an appearance of Jane Austen at the printer (which troubled Cuckooer Jacob extremely).

because you just go with anything and your standards are hit and miss

but with the speed the two of you are going i wonder how long you'll be "miss"

and that's a real fucking mistake because you cheated with another "miss"

and when your name comes in conversation people look at me but they miss the lack of interest i have, the stab in my chest of your other miss

because your love was all just a myth and you will never be missed

and i know that it sounds like i'm pissed but you can't cause that in me; you missed

it's not that i want you back or that i even like you at all

it's just that i'd like to know why i know it's childish and all

Hope you've been enjoying the queue of literature themed pictures we've had in the queue for the past week.

Running this blog is so much fun because, for me, it allows me to explore parts of tumblr deeper than I ever have before.

Don't get me wrong, on my personal blog, I do tumble a lot about literature and writing but not to the extent I find myself doing here. A lot of the things I read when I'm on here I don't reblog because I'm too engrossed in reading and thinking about it.

I need to become more inclined to appreciate and share things which stimulate my mind as I am with things which stimulates my eye.

I think that's a lesson for life too, come to think of it.
