so ive decided to switch around a little bit of Joseph’s lore. I think it would make more sense if the sensitive skin was a setback to the fact that she was originally going to be a sex doll. hear me out ok.
so instead of the sensors in her skin being a product of making her horny, they hurt. hurts whenever anyone or anything touches her skin; it’s like an intense burning or stinging sensation. now, when she was being rewired and stuff to make her a suitable worker bee, they missed the part of her programming that MADE her a sex doll, and left it in. this would be the reason she even got to feel desire
Basically, now Joseph is just horny due to her nature. But touching anything hurts. So she craves touch, but she can’t have it. Ever. She’s a victim of her own being. also it wouldn’t matter anyway because she’s smooth down there like a Barbie. Do we like do we like that im torturing my characters.
of course because she’s a synthetic and HAS to wear clothes and HAS to be working with heavy machinery, she can learn to ignore it. Yeah she’ll wear gloves and have her body fully covered when she’s around people just to lessen the pain, but when she’s alone with no one touching her she has more freedom to do what she wants.

Okay unfortunately I don’t have a lot of lore for her as I typically don’t with most of my OCs BUTTT she started as a self insert when I was OBSESSED with bishop and the working joes in alien isolation 😁 and … before I realized I was a lesbian … she was shipped with hicks. But no one knows that so keep it on the dl. I’m trusting you OKAY SEE STUFF BELOW CUT
She sorta morphed into a regular OC and not a self insert when I realized she would have more potential to be cool and amazing if she wasn’t me and thus Joseph came to be her name. I also love boys names for girls (I have an female Elder Scroll’s OC whose name is Konstantin😁)
Haven’t figured out her model yet, but I’m assuming something adjacent to the 120 A/2s like ash is, since alien 1979 is around the time she was manufactured. I mean, obviously it’s not that, because she was originally supposed to be a sex doll, but something like that🤔
oh yah, the doll idea came from Alien: prototype, one of the novels. One of the scientists working for Wey-Yu was also a former sex doll, and just decided to pick a different career path. The difference between her and Joseph is that Joseph was a reject, since they made the sensors in her skin waayyyyy too sensitive. Instead of tossing her, they reworked her brain and implemented what would make her a good obedient little worker for a big corporation. It’s one of the reasons why she doesn’t appear sexually appealing. Originally I thought it’d be funny if a synth was really fucking horny all the time due to them not having feelings, but, yah know. Having overly sensitive skin makes a bit more sense.
I like to imagine she befriended Ellen Ripley before she boarded the Nostromo, though I should explore about how and where they met. She was around Amanda for a good bit of knowing her, and was often babysitting her when Ripley had a job to do (I take bits and pieces from the alien: isolation novel that I like because some of the stuff about Amanda’s childhood is pretty interesting and her stepdad was an asshole).
years later, after hearing nada about Ellen Ripley nor the Nostromo, the news about the flight recorder in Sevastopol found her as she was working in the same area as Amanda (they’re both engineers😁). And, actually, Amanda hadn’t recognized Joseph even after working with her for years. Joseph always knew, but she didn’t want to bring about painful memories. But anyway! She obviously boarded the Torrens with Amanda and eventually shared who she was.
Inside Sevastopol, Joseph was quite a reliant synth. She still had her body from when she was meant to be a sex doll, which was pretty flexible, and in addition to that, she had added muscle to accommodate her occupation after being repurposed. So she got around quickly and was able to keep herself sturdy and stable 😁 Amanda really liked her, even before learning who exactly she was.
Joseph didn’t survive Sevastopol. The end scene, where Amanda is struggling to release the Torrens from the station, is where she died. While all of the aliens surrounded her, Joseph immediately took a defensive stance, even though you can see that in the game they never attack Amanda. Just kinda lurk there menacingly. However, because Joseph angered them, she wasn’t able to follow Amanda or join her in the Torrens and was ultimately ripped apart. And then destroyed in Sevastopol’s collision with KG348.
but overall Joseph is the sweetest and most understanding synth 😁 at least. for a robot. you have to get used to her attitude tho. unfortunately they missed the part of her brain that was still a brat. I also have a Pinterest board dedicated to her and I love her so much ok bye

the other version is her just a lil beat up
So basically she was a rejected sex doll that got recycled as an executive/science officer :P she knew Ellen and was REALLY interested in the disappearance of the Nostromo, so obviously she jumped up to helped Amanda in sevastopol station
also she was rejected because the factory fucked up and made the tactical sensors in her skin WAY too sensitive… so as a result she’s just mega horny all the time
There's a better shot of it in Aliens, right at the start when they're listing the Nostromo crew memebrs!
Also I read that there are deleted scenes of Ripley and Lambert arguing and being more overtly in a relationship. Ever since I learned that it's been my favorite ship.
SO ! Next chapter should be posted before July. I finally drafted all of it. It's just so long.
