But seriously what's up with Clark's character. Seriously what happened. Did no-one while reading the script thought it might not be a good idea to have the only black character have a line about cannibalism. That was not even plot-relevant, they could've cut that line out.

Then the whole thing with him being portrayed as the angry, misogynistic black man who is a danger to the white woman AND having said white woman tell him that's just "how he's wired" >??? He says he only hurts people around himself and she tells him it's okay you can't change it's just how you're wired? Ah?? ... that was so tone-deaf. And then she shouts at him while he's been trying to tell her ;-; she's not even a good therapist, she's just taking it out on him?? Idk if that's on purpose or.

Also come on. There are plenty of tall black men who could've filled that role. Don't tell me they chose the white actor because of his acting because he barely does any acting except walking around. But having him put on the mask of a disfigured black man.... Damn.

Anyway on the rest of the movie.

Liked the first half better, it was really tense. I feel like Kane gets lost with his camera work whenever it's not first person or one static shot > there were four different shots of Clark walking towards the talking cardboard cutout, including one in first person. The music deeply complimented the atmosphere and anxiety.

I understood halfway through that the therapist was the real protagonist... That explains why there are more posters of just her 🫠 even her entrance in the backrooms was made to be more impactful, I feel? The lighting, the music, everything. It kinda obscured Clark's. Oh well.
