CRYSTALIZE.

“ there’s something i wanted to ask you.  i’ve been thinking lately about your crystals.  would you mind terribly— ? ”  shouto disregards the fact that by asking such he already has,  technically.  the actual question sits readily on the tip of his tongue,  heavy and heady enough that it slips out before he is prompted for denied.  “ do they have any healing qualities? ”

“ i would obviously understand if you opted out… ”  quirks are quite personal matters.  there’s a line in place that he is deliberately choosing to cross over for what comes across as mere curiosity.  it’s not something it does lightly,  albeit rather selfishly. / @crystace​

     “  what about them?  “   head tilts in curiosity though their expression remains unchanged.  people ask questions all the time---   are they real gemstones?  how tough are they?  are they heat resistant?   a wide array of questions they’d grown accustomed to answering or shutting down when they felt necessary.

   expectant   gaze   pinned   on   an   unassuming   back ,  whole   physique   rigid   whilst   awaiting   an   opportunity   to   snag   attention     (   HOPEFULLY   WITHOUT   CAUSING   A   SCENE ,  THIS   TIME   )  ;     perhaps   it ‘ s   the   inevitable   feeling   of   being   watched ,  but   eijirō   wastes   no   time   once   a   glance   is   cast   his   way ,  bounding   forward   to   lean   over   counter .     a   tray   of   cooling   pastries   is   pushed   nearly   to   the   opposite   end ,  megawatt   smile   cracking   across   previously   solemn   features .           ❛     ━━     you   said   last   time   you   prefer   strawberries   over   raspberries ,  right   ?     it ‘ s   my   first   time   working   with   fresh   berries ,  SO   BE   HONEST   ! ! !     ❜               / /  @crystace

     coming in to get coffee and some sort of pastry has become a habit they don’t want to break,  the quiet background noise of a busy coffee shop being a sort of comfort in the morning as they go about their daily routine.  a certain redhead makes it better,  even with him being the definition of a disaster when making coffee,  they don’t mind the conversation,  nor the pastries he seems so good at making.  their quick glance at the counter catches quick movement,  a slight blur of bright red as he bounces forward to push a tray of pastries at them.  slight surprise reads on their face.

     kirishima’s familiar voice makes them jump a little,  as loud as expected but still more startling than they’d like.  as he catches up they slow,  then come to a stop and turn on their heel to look at the redhead,  a slight tilt of their head showing their interest in why he needed their attention.

     there’s actually slight surprise on their face---   people aside from yua don’t invite them out that often,  for fair reason too.  they aren’t exactly a ball of sunshine,  after all,  and they’re fine with staying in as opposed to hanging out with the majority of the people in their class.  but this is kirishima,  and as much as they won’t admit it outright,  they’ve taken a bit of a liking to him.

          their birthday is something they’ve never paid much attention to---  only celebrating it at yua’s insistence   (  he’s far more persistent than touma is stubborn,  and despite not admitting it outright,  they don’t mind his childhood friend’s yearly celebration  ).  the day had come and passed like it usually did,  with yua’s celebration,  and nothing else to note,  and they’d all but forgotten it by the next day.

          so there’s slight surprise on their face when they find themself on the receiving end of a box of candies,  ruby red and crystalline in structure.  their gaze flits between the candies and bakugou’s face,  tinted slightly pink.  embarrassment?  they don’t know,  but they can feel their own face heating up as they realize he’d made this for them.  )

          they take one and pop it in their mouth,  letting the candy sit on their tongue and they can taste strawberries.  they don’t know why they expected any different,  but they’re genuinely surprised bakugou had remembered such a minor detail---   it’s not like they constantly shouted to the world about how strawberries are their favorite food.

     he’s used to indiscriminate displays of affection from his childhood friend,  it may as well be a staple of their friendship.  it’s no different when the taller cups his face,  held tightly as he states that it’s kissing day.  it’s no surprise touma had no idea that today had been any different than any other day,  he never paid much mind to things like that.

his eyes squeeze shut as light kisses are pressed to his face,  all over the ruby red freckles on his cheeks,  all over his forehead,  even the tip of his nose.  he can hear the soft giggles leave yua,  and it makes his cheeks heat up a little as he tries to stay still despite the kisses.  a moment passes and it seems like he’s had his share of affection for the day.

            ‘  clearly you’ve been surrounded by individuals who care not for their reputation. you represent your school, and, as such, you must present yourself tall and proud to not tarnish its reputable name.  ’

            ‘  you. are you not a student of u.a.? so long as you bear that uniform, you should hold yourself up straight and dignified.  ’
