Hey guys, it’s me again, back with another post regarding to the ongoing aging / shipping controversy in the Poppy Playtime community/fandom. I’ve deleted the previous one and decided to do a updated version, because apparently I have found something very interesting that I thought should be shared.

First of, it has come to my attention that BatStreak, who seems to continue attacking and sending her followers to harass, bully, and threaten those she deems as “predators” (basically acting as a judge, jury, and executioner). Unfortunately, stuff like this will continue to happen, even if the evidence that opposes them is right in their faces. You can go and defend yourself (you have the right to), but the best you can do is blocking, ignoring, moving on, and being with the people that support you. It’s clear that engaging gives her and others like her gives them more ammunition.

I know that the accusations are very serious and can cause severe real-time consequences and damage and what BatStreak is doing is highly disgusting. Falsely accusing people as well as LYING about them doing something horrible when they’re clearly not and who are clearly against predators or were victims of predators themselves of something so serious without any evidence whatsoever will get someone seriously hurt or worse. The fact that Batstreak along with many others like her block and delete comments from everyone trying to correct or stop her, including those she “claims” to support and protect proves that it has nothing to do with protecting children, supporting victims and supporting mental health These people do not care about the principle of innocent until proven guilty nor about people’s mental health and wellbeing. It’s very clear to me that this is something more nefarious and it really disgusts me. This whole situation is becoming very worrisome and dangerous.

And honestly, it’s not the first time people attacked others or even creators for not aligning with their headcanons/beliefs or making their headcanons/beliefs canon in a fandom/community (take MHA and Gachiakuta for example). I highly recommend just blocking, ignoring, moving on, being with the people that support you, and not engaging because that’s what they want—attention and ammunition. I know it sucks and I know it even sucks to be blocked and accused by people you love, supported and look up to, but it’s best to leave it be unless otherwise. And if you’re someone new who loves Poppy Playtime and is considering joining the fandom, I would highly recommend that you don’t. In fact, you don’t need to join a fandom or community to enjoy something and meet other like-minded fans. I know it sucks to hear this, but trust me, for your sanity and wellbeing, it’s for the best.

With all of that being said, I have found this video through a user and it’s everything that I’ve been saying for the past few months! I highly recommend checking this video out and share it with people because they really need to see this. And if these people still have this mindset, then I don’t know what to tell them anymore. At this point I’m just going to ignore them and do what I want to do. These people are either mentally ill and get off on being wicked or have nefarious motives behind what they’re doing. Either way, I’m not having it anymore, I’m DONE. I’ve said what I needed to say and wipe my hands clean from this. 👆🏼the haters.

All these fucking books!  What could anyone possibly do with them all?!?!?!?! Do you eat books to absorb their powers instead of read them?

A better guess would be that you got into a moral panic over the name of a certain Renaissance statue and maybe after reading three pages of Edith Hamilton or the first paragraph of a Wikipedia article. And then used that to castigate and demean not only the people who actually take their limited time to create gorgeous art but also to denigrate modern day worshippers of Persephone and Hades?

neil has repeatedly and publicly said that he supports interpretations of A&C being in love, queer, trans, nb, or a-spec its just that labeling their love is difficult because they’re divine beings not contained by human ideals of romance and gender

that tweet going around of neil saying that fans were “reading too much into” A&C’s relationship was only a partial screencap of a longer tweet in which neil was supporting queer interpretations of his characters but no one on this site has reading comprehension or the ability to use google so everyone saw the incomplete text of the tweet and assumed neil was being homophobic when in reality that couldn’t be further from the truth

the book good omens was published in the year 1990 when it was much more risky to display openly queer characters in media than it is now

the show good omens was made as a memorial to co-author terry pratchett who died in 2015, so obviously, making significant changes to the plot gaiman and pratchett wrote together would be full of emotional hardship and grief for neil gaiman who is no doubt extremely upset that he is making this adaptation without terry alongside him. of course he isn’t going to deviate from the book since terry can’t approve the changes.

there are a million ways to show love between two characters that don’t involve kissing or sex and good omens used every single one of them between aziraphale and crowley

good omens already has many radical messages outside of A&C’s relationship (it’s literally a book philosophizing on the dangers of war and protracted conflict and questioning our understanding of christian theology. it also includes issues of feminism, anti-capitalism, climate change and pollution, and nuclear disarmament.) which cannot be ignored especially in todays political climate and to pretend that this show is as problematic as others i could mention just because neil won’t call two genderless creatures gay is reductive and frankly insulting

PLEASE READ. WILL NOT HURT TO AND FORWARD. Kids are putting Drano, tin foil, and a little water in plastic drink bottles and capping it up - leaving it on lawns, in mail boxes, in gardens, on driveways etc. just waiting for you to pick it up intending to put it in the rubbish, but you’ll never make it!!!

If the bottle is picked up, and the bottle is shaken even just a little - in about 30 seconds or less it builds up enough gas which then explodes with enough force to remove some your extremities. The liquid that comes out is boiling hot as well. Don’t pick up any plastic bottles that may be lying in your yards or in the gutter, etc. Pay attention to this. A plastic bottle with a cap. A little Drano. A little water. A small piece of foil. Disturb it by moving it; and BOOM!! No fingers left and other serious effects to your face, eyes, etc. Please ensure that everyone that may not have email access are also informed of this.

💀Do not harass writers for creating content you know you shouldn’t be looking at! 

What I mean is, do not harass writers for creating content that upsets you when you knew it would upset you but you chose to engage with it anyway. This applies more to online works, but is still relevant to books, movies, etc.

If you see a fic includes a pairing you hate, don’t read it.

If you see that someone has tagged their work with things like “suicide,” “incest,” “underage,” “dubcon/noncon,” “sexual assault/rape,” etc., and you know those subjects upset you, don’t read it.

If you don’t want to see a certain character sexualized and an artist has marked their work NSFW, don’t look at it.

If a movie is rated R for drug use and you do not want to see that, don’t watch it.

Obviously the content creator in an online space has the responsibility to tag their work appropriately, and failure to do so should be (politely) corrected. But if you see something tagged as containing content that you know will legitimately trigger you, DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THAT CONTENT AND DO NOT HARASS THE CREATOR BECAUSE YOU CHOSE TO ENGAGE WITH IT ANYWAY.

In this day and age, we have more tools than ever to block content we don’t want to see. Block tags, block users, do what you have to do to avoid engaging with content that compromises your mental health–but don’t go out of your way to harass the people who create that content, because you aren’t doing anyone, including yourself, any good.

Do not force the responsibility of your well-being onto people who did not ask for it.

But nothing did happen. You received a thoughtful gift that cost more time than money. That’s it! Hardly the pinnacle of ~gift etiquette~ to begin with, but unless she buys no yarn with her own money it makes no difference whether your gift card was included in the transaction.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m really glad she’s a huge hit, it’s super exciting to see so many people love the character design and the gameplay, and know that I contributed directly and significantly to the behind-the-scenes engineering that makes it all work. It’s validating.

But it’s also so fucking melancholy to know I did so much work and put in so much time for such a shitty company, run by shitty people, and the reward I got for it was unemployment. 

I threw a lot into this character. I cried at work. I started getting panic attacks, which I’ve never gotten before. I developed persistent heart palpitations from the daily overwhelming stress and had to go to the hospital (this is true, seriously.) I basically dropped all my friends outside of work. My manager (and his manager!) lied to me constantly to keep me working. They said I was doing a great job but to keep it up. Don’t worry, it’s going to turn out great, and it’ll all be worth it in the end – recognition, a raise, probably a promotion in short order. They promised me the world. When she was finally finished, I didn’t even get to go to the release party, they just walked me out. 

I remember a quote from my last day, it sticks out in my mind: “I know you realize this is really hard for me,” my manager said. Yes, in the end, when he awkwardly informed me I didn’t have my dream job anymore – or any job at all – and then stared back at my shell-shocked face, my thousand-yard stare, the only thing he felt was sorry for himself.

She launched with no major bugs and was considered a technical success. Doesn’t matter. Get the fuck out.

Look, I get it. Akali is EXTREMELY my type. It’s obvious how much love and care was put into her development. But it makes me furious to see all the free advertising that Riot is getting from people who I thought would know better.  And now? One of the people who is arguably responsible for all that free advertising? Who’s work is undoubtedly making Riot hundreds of thousands of dollars a day? Who was overworked to the point of near breaking? They get nothing. WORSE than the scant bit of credit that most devs can get in a big company like Riot. They got let go.
