My husband and I developed a theory so please play along and tell me where you are in birth order (oldest, middle, youngest, only) and if you think having siblings is overall a positive or negative thing.

oldest child here! i think that it is overall, in most cases, beneficial. however, i think our perceptions of our sibling change as we grow up. when i was younger i didn’t really care for my siblings tbh. i felt responsible for them somehow and i also had undiagnosed mental health issues, ocd namely, that made it extra difficult to connect with them. we also just had clashing personalities really. as we’ve grown though, i find that we get along better now more than ever. it just took us all growing into our own people without it being some sort of competition to constantly be our parents “favorite” child. i would have sold them for a stale corn chip when we were younger though lol.
