crylomorph was an art and music project i started in november 2020 and ended in march 2026.

i made it when i was fourteen because i needed a separate name to create under, and somewhere to put a lot of what i was feeling at the time. it started mainly as visual art, especially edited self-portraits and posthuman/body horror-inspired digital pieces, and later became a music project too.

a lot of it came from identity issues, dysphoria, dissociation, alienation, and generally not knowing how to exist in myself properly. most of the visual work started as photos of me taken in really ordinary places and then edited beyond recognition. looking back now, a lot of it was very obviously me trying to process my relationship with my body and with being seen at all.

the project also existed through a really difficult period of my life, and a lot of that ended up feeding directly into the work. but it also became a place where i could put all of that somewhere outside of myself, which i think is a big part of why it mattered so much to me.

throughout all of this, i was also releasing music under the crylomorph name, including albums "sleep tight vol. 2" in mid-2023 and "through the fog" in 2025, alongside other projects and singles. a lot of it is still on bandcamp, some of it is still on streaming, and i also did vinyl for sleep tight vol. 2 and through the fog.

over time, though, it started to feel like crylomorph had run its course. the project became harder and harder to define, especially as my work kept moving in different directions, and eventually it stopped feeling like the right place to keep putting everything.

so this is less me quitting and more me properly drawing a line under something that was very important to me for a long time.

i’m now using overtiredtransfem more as an umbrella for everything, including the visual work i post here, while i continue making music under other aliases too.

i’ll probably return to this kind of work at some point, and i’m also planning on selling prints of some of these pieces in future.

but for now, this is the end of crylomorph.
