It won’t heal, this hurt. This loss.

i was only nine, but I remember. I already was Queen fan at that age, since my five, I guess, and living in - at THAT time - in Sovien Union, well, that was different, music videos on TV were rare, VERY rare, esp. something like Queen videos, and it was the day I saw and heard Bohemian Rhapsody for the first time in my life (we had some tapes with 80th period albums and ‘Greatest Hits’ LP made in Bulgaria, I guess, and BohRhap was cut out of it). And I remember saying to my mom - she was watching it with me, “Look, he is so beautiful here”, I guess it was late night, and yes, I was allowed to watch music videos even that late, and I wasn’t watching any news that day, and mom said “He died from AIDS”. It was shock. I cried so hard and for so long that I was even allowed to not to go to school next day. And few days after that mom told me that she came to like and even love Queen and Freddie because of me, she told me that she knew their music since her youth and she didn’t liked it at that time, and that people will remember him for very long time. I dunno if that helped much even if at all at *that* time, but with time it did. And now I’m nearly fourty, and seeing kids listening to Queen and loving Freddie... It’s something. He’s really immortal through us. The show is going on.

But after thirty years it still hurts like that day in 1991.
