My doll displays and cabinet layouts of 2026 so far.
I started collection dolls when I was 16 years old and had my first job as a teenager. I would hunt down eBay listings of barbie dolls during the years of around 2008-2010. Back then I was predominantly an in box only barbie doll and celebrity doll collector. I still have my collection of barbies from that time, just not on display currently.
The past 9 months I have become infatuated with Bratz dolls, originally I had succumbed to the likes of the mean girls and Gaultier collaborations, but my itch wasn’t scratched until I eventually got my hands on a Live in Concert Cloe doll that I found at an op shop for $3 almost complete (missing handbag).
Since then I have been endlessly been devouring my way through bratz bundles finding hidden gems and discovering new favourites, obsessed with the processes of restoring and sourcing missing pieces for each doll to make them as complete as possible.
I had never really thought much about Bratz dolls during their release because I was so barbie pilled, but when I first stumbled upon LIC Cloe that day I was so impressed with the brands quality and detail for a play line doll and wanted to experience more.

Formal Funk Dana Bratz Doll 2004
Formal Funk is one of my favourite lines, I love a doll that has some frou frou to it it just reminds me of a cliche Doll with a capital D.
These Dana dolls came seperately, I first received the doll wearing the Champagne two piece, she came with her first full outfit shoes and some accessories like her earrings bag and little makeup pieces. Her bangs were cut shorter, which if you know they should seperate at the part and be tied back like the doll’s in the green dress. But I actually really like the bangs being in a single swoop, so thank you to whoever cut this dolls hair.
Again line My formal funk Sasha, I handmade her shawl and gloves in complimentary fabrics which I took some creative liberties with as they stray slightly from the original. And her crown, which isn’t her but suits nicely is from a woman I befriended on eBay, she was selling a listing of small accessories which included the crown so I messaged to ask about separating. She responded saying yes and then one thing lead to another and we got to talking, she offered to keep an eye out for accessorise pieces for me on her travels and just send them to me, which has actually been the sweetest thing I’ve encountered on eBay. Cheers to Denise 🥂
The second doll and most recent is wearing the green second look from the set, it’s kinda interesting how different their screens are, but I think somehow they both work with their outfits. This doll came with everything except her gloves which again I made for her in complimentary colour mesh. This Dana also came with a haircut, this time it was her ponytail. Originally I was a little disappointed, but once the doll started to come together after the restoration I think the shorter ponytail actually suits this shorter dress and rather complements the design.
I always love having two dolls to display complete outfits, and I one day plan to do this with each of the dolls in this line. Again, I love frou frou dolls.
Campfire Winter Adventure Phoebe Bratz Doll 2005
My first from this line of dolls, I found her online with most of her pieces, just missing her boots and fur jacket which somehow ended up being listed for sale a week later. I’m not sure if it was Devine timing or what but she came together quite quickly.
The doll itself is absolutely gorgeous, she has such a great screening and the hair colour and type is really beautiful and easy to style. Easily one of the best Phoebe dolls. Before I had her jacket and boots I was having trouble with the colour scheme of this doll, it is inherently Christmas themed which I usually loath, but once I had her jacket it really tied the complete design together, and now the outfit reads more of a Canadian winter, maple syrup and cinnamon.
I added the addition of Sportz Golf Cloe’s socks as I really like the argyle pair that the Cloe in the same line had with her outfit. Also this fur jacket is one of my most favourite bratz clothing items to date. I think this and Winter Wonderland Yasmin’s pink shearling/pennylane jacket look really great on dolls becuase they don’t envelope the doll but rather just add the needed drama.
And yes I know, unfortunately her boots are clearly from two seperate sets but I honestly can’t be that picky, I can only hope that maybe I will find the matching set one day. Oh! And before I trail off I also have her complete second look which comes with a really fab pair of wedge moccasins, so I may style her one day when I become tired of this look.
Formal Funk Sasha Bratz doll 2004
This might be one of my top 3 favourite dolls I own. Like Tokyo Tianna I never thought I would see myself having her in my collection due to the fact she is nearly impossible to find complete.
however I happened to find her online one day and the seller had listed her as very cheap. All she came with was her skirt and the shoes, so I took the chance and got her and figured that I would try to replace her missing bodice, gloves and Shawl.
To my luck there was a marketplace listing that same week from someone selling a mini bratz formal funk doll which happened to have the same fabric as formal funk Sasha’s dress. I purchased it without question and started planning how I would turn this tiny piece of clothing into another.
When I received the mini doll I was shocked by how tiny the item actually was and began to re consider my approach as there was barely any fabric to use. I decided to unpick the skirt so I could utilise every millimetre of fabric available, I had also prepared a pattern for a bodice which utilised the skirt pieces to the best of my ability. Eventually fitting all pieces in and even using the skirt lining to line the inside of the bodice.
The gloves and shawl were also rather easily found, as I chanced upon the mesh at an op shop I was in and found a great colour match organza at the fabric store. I’m genuinely so pleased with how it all came together and I kind of like her even more with her custom bodice, I feel like she has the simplest outfit in the range and the style I crafted was a true re-imagining of the original.

Tokyo-a-go-go Tiana Bratz Doll 2004
I still can’t believe I ended up getting my hands on this doll. She rarely ever appears in listings, especially not here in Australia anyways. I found her on eBay as usual, but she was tucked away in a bundle and I was so lucky that the seller lived in the same city as me.
She was in pretty rough condition when I got her, and I had invested in a hot iron to help me with straightening out her fringe which was completely distressed and fried. I often find the Tokyo line kinda difficult to restore because their hair strands are very brittle, but eventually I got the hair to a better place than it was when I collected the doll.
I sourced the outfits online, luckily her outfit is rather easy to come by, all I’m really wanting to complete her is the roller skates and her headset.
Midnight Dance Yasmin Bratz Doll 2005
I purchased this doll from eBay with almost all her pieces, she was missing one of her shoes and her matching cape. I’m still searching for at least her missing shoe, but for now I’m really happy with the Ooh La La fur stole which is a great colour match to this doll.
This was a really great restoration because this Yasmin doll I feel is often overlooked within the Midnight Dance line because the series is very strong, but I have kinda completely fallen for this doll in the lineup and am claiming her as my favourite in the series. Her evanescence colours, and midnight blue black hair is really gorgeous. Her hair ribbons are my favourite part about her design, and if I get the other two dolls, I would definitely try and incorporate them into their hair as well because I think it could definitely been carried through each design.
I always catch myself glancing this doll in my cabinet and i have to stop and appreciate her for a moment each time, she has grown rapidly as one of my favourite dolls I own.
