Teia turned to press her back against the door, looking up at Viago from beneath her lashes. She grinned, a smile sharp at the edges, and the fire in Viago's eyes mirrored the flame that burned for him in her chest.

Teia leaned into his touch, trying not to think about how, not an hour ago, she'd thought she'd never feel it again. It was easier to push those feelings away as she felt Viago's weight and warmth against her side. The bruising looked angry, and come morning she would seek out something to help with healing, but for now Teia simply made sure to be as careful as she could with him.

A gentle smile broke across his face, something he typically only showed to Teia. The pinch drew a quiet chuckle from him, even though the motion hurt. It didn't matter; he was with Teia, and that, in his mind, was the very definition of happiness.
"I know you missed my jokes," he replied, the hand on her cheek sliding back to comb his fingers through her hair. "But if you want me to stop, I will. I'd hate to punish you with them."
His voice stayed steady, his expression unchanged -- save for the faint twitch of his smile into a smirk, before he sought to distract her with gentle kisses along her shoulder.
She was constantly beautiful, as if it came effortlessly. Whether in a full Antivan gown or in the quiet hours of the morning when they rose for the day, she was always ineffable to Viago. But what he loved most was her fire, her passion, her wit, and the way she always saw through his carefully placed masks, liking the man beneath.
"Does this re-establish our... relationship?" he asked softly, wanting her confirmation before he committed to her again.
