Shelby tilted her head at his comment before laughing. “Okay. So, maybe you didn’t. Maybe I’m impatient.” She admitted, enjoying getting a rouse out of her friend. “There’s extra if you wanna join us?”  Shelby saw no fault in inviting him, he was her friend after all. Considering he was now seeing Verity, It only made sense right? “That’s really sweet of you to do that for your mother.  I’m sure she’s going to be very happy. She’s lucky to have a son as sweet as you.” mMore times than nine Shelby had seen people forget their parents once they had ventured out on their own. Especially someone a successful is Colton.  She was happy to see that, even in his success, he had remained loyal to his family. “ Verity is a big fan of Margherita pizza, but I’m sure you knew that already. I’m glad you two worked things out. If you ever hurt her, I will come for your knees and your truck tires. Just so you know.” She laughed.

“It does seem that way.” Colton replied although he wasn’t sure how she could survive living in the house that she did without having any patience. It took Verity a long time to get ready, so he was sure that she hogged the bathroom at their place. Not that Colton had been brought to the Banana House as they called it. Him and Verity spent their time at his place. “I will have to see what I am up to.” Colton told Shelby as he wasn’t sure if he should go or not. He didn’t want to overstep if Verity didn’t want him there as things were still so new. “I just want to ensure that she’s being taken care of.” He added as he knew things had been hard for his mother since his father had died. The last that he could do was be supportive by helping her get things she needed. “Of trust me, I know. My freezer is filled with those frozen ones you can get at the store.” Colton added with a shake of his head because it wasn’t an obsession he understood. “I have no intentions of hurting her.”

while   thomas   was   almost   used   to   a   lot   of   people,   with   his   lectures   being   close   to   sometimes   over   150   people   he   was   still   on   a   small   stage   and   away   from   everyone.   now   he   was   almost   sure   he   knew   what   his   students   felt   like   in   the   lecture   hall.   and   reminded   of   what   it   had   been   like   back   them   they   went   to   college.   “i   believe   almost   the   whole   town   is   here,”   thomas   chuckled   at   the   other,   gripping   his   basket   tighter   in   his   hand.   “i’m   just   doing   some   last   minute   shopping,   what   about   yourself?”

“I wouldn’t put it past the people of Bridgeport.” Colton said with a chuckle. Whenever there was some sort of event here in Bridgeport there always seemed to be massive crowds. That included whenever the winter market was open. People loved to support local businesses, and a lot of the stalls were filled with things that were made right here in town.  “I am doing the same.” Colton said as he figured while he was here he might as well get some stuff. “I just need to  figure out a few more things and I will be good.”

For once, Maddy was out in public enjoying the town’s event out of uniform. The female normally volunteered on holidays to work so her co-workers with children could be off. She wore simple black skinny jeans and an oversized red sweater to be somewhat festive. The police officer did help set up the display the department paid for, a simple display of Santa in a police car. She was looking at the other displays when she heard the male’s voice and a snort came from her. “You aren’t kidding. I mean, I’m no Grinch, but this town turns into a full out Hallmark movie this time of year.” She agreed, holding the hot chocolate she had purchased in her right hand. The warmth was comforting in the coldness of the outside weather.

“I think it has something to do with there being so few people here or whatever. People feel they need to be festive because if they aren’t they stick out. That or the council is convinced we need to be the most festive place in the whole state.” Colton replied, but it was probably just the combination of the two. He felt like most people went all out for a lot of holidays, and the town itself usually had some sort of festival for the biggest ones. It was something Colton had grown up with, so he hadn’t that it was too strange. Then when he started travelling and realized not everywhere did the same thing he decided Bridgeport was just special.  “I am surprised they don’t film a bunch of those here to be honest with you.”

With a slight laugh, Anni nodded. “Well, I was kind of just asking whoever was closest to me.” she admitted with another chuckle. “All I saw was your shadow on the floor from that light above you, I didn’t quite realize you were, well, you until I turned around.” Now that he mentioned it though, Anni couldn’t help but laugh at how ridiculous it seemed that she was asking not only a ‘stranger’ but someone that clearly had no idea the first thing about lipstick for advice on a color. As he note that it did in fact do what she’d hoped for, she smiled. “Well, thank you for that. I did want something that wasn’t quite as bold.” she admitted. “You sure you don’t secretly know a lot about make up and you’re just messing with me?” she joked. 

“I guess that is fair enough.” Colton replied as he had done that before. Sometimes you just needed an opinion other than your own, and it didn’t matter whose. Other times Colton had asked people things simply because he just needed to hear how they sounded out loud. Neither thing was really wrong.  “I am guessing there is a time and a place for bold things, but it isn’t every day.” Colton replied as he figured that much out. “My girlfriend is really into it, so I have at least seen someone put some on. Other than that, I only know the stuff I’ve heard from growing up with a sister.” Colton admitted as he felt it was pretty impossible to not know anything at all.

Considering the male was raised in Kentucky until age 10, Eddie loved country music. To have a local being a famous country musician was something Eddie thought made Bridgeport unique. It helped that Colton was a down to earth kid. Eddie always tried to catch his local performances during the town’s events and the Christmas event was no different. Although, he must have got the time wrong cause nobody was around. He was definitely way early, but oh well. Maybe he could get some hot chocolate or something. Eddie was wandering around when he spotted no other than Colton himself. He smiled and gave the other a wave. “Hey, bud. How’s it goin’? I ain’t interruptin’ sound check or anythin’, am I? I apparently can’t tell time right.” He jokingly said, shoving his hands into his pockets of his jeans. It was getting colder this time of year and the southern man never wore gloves. That probably explained why his hands were so rough and calloused.

Colton always loved to play local gigs for the town. Bridgeport was his home and he loved giving back to the local people who had supported him before he was big. Colton knew the people here had given him the confidence to make it big, and it was not something he was going to forget. Now he was getting ready for his show that was going to be in an hour and just trying to enjoy the other activities that were going on. Colton heard someone speak and turned to see Eddie.  “No, you’re alright.” He said with a smile as he’d finished up all sound check related activities earlier. Every event in town seemed to run like a tight ship, so things went perfectly on schedule most of the time.  “Right now I am just sort of hanging out and taking in the other things that are going on today.” Colton added as he looked around to see that the crowds were getting pretty thick. “What about yourself?” 

Colton had been looking forward to just relaxing today, but things hadn’t gone as planned. Instead he’d been dragged out to help with the Christmas market, which of course was filled with people. The man had never seen the market not packed so he was not surprised in the slightest. He was trying to get back to his friend’s stall when he bumped into Thomas. “Hey, sorry man. Everyone is so pressed together that I feel like we are sardines in a can in here.”

Colton buried his hands in his pockets as he walked through the park. It seemed there were a lot of people who had the same idea as he did. Many businesses had put up light displays this year, and much like everything else in this town it seemed it was bigger than ever. “It seems that everyone in town is in the Christmas cheer.” He said to the nearby woman.

“Thanks.” She nudged his arm playfully, happy to see him. “I was gonna reach over you since you were taking a billion years to decide what you wanted, but didn’t wanna be rude.” She explained, looking at the contents of her basket. “ would you believe this is only for five people? I have to get so much, because Jamey will have about three servings on his own.” She half Joked, the man child could certainly eat. “Looks like I’m not the only one on a mission. Are you doing a family dinner thing too? Or is that for all for Verity? Because she totally deserve to be spoiled with yummy desserts to say the least.”  she’ll be adored, her roommate, and you a little bit about what was going on with her and Colton from the talk they had before Halloween. She was happy that they were finally together. Hopefully things will work out this time.

“I did not take a billion years.” Colton said with a shake of his head. He felt like he had barely taken any time at all. He was the type of person who liked to be sure of things, but this wasn’t one of those cases where he needed to think things over for too long.  “I suppose that is fair enough.” Colton replied as he knew that Verity had mentioned something about that. She came to his place a lot to eat because Jamey seemed to eat all the food in their place. “I am picking up some things for my mother.” He explained, although he was sure that Verity would be coming along for the family adventures this year. It was weird to think about in a sense. That she was his girlfriend after all this time. “She doesn’t get out and about town as much as she used to.”

“You know, I haven’t been skating in years.” Colton told Verity as he looked out at the ice rink. “I used to go with my parents as a kid but then my career took off and I got busy.” He added as in the last year Colton was really starting to realize all the things he’d missed out on when he was always away on tour.  It was good to be home for the foreseeable future.  “If I fall on my ass, I need you to at least pretend like you aren’t going to tease me until the end of time.”

“Would you believe me if I told you I didn’t know much about it either?” Anni laughed, turning to look back at the mirror for a moment. She knew about make up, obviously as she was standing in the make up aisle. And she’d had plenty of practice through the years; not only could she vividly remember the times when she’d put on make-up with her mom in the bathroom of her Pittsburgh home, but also from the few years she was a lounge singer, but when it came to technicality, Anni didn’t have a clue. Turning to face the other again - at this point she was just thankful he’d replied; she’d look quite silly talking to herself in a store - she smiled. “But, like you said, I usually just try to go for something that doesn’t stand out too much, so I think this might be a good option.” she smiled. “Thank you. For responding even though this isn’t no where close to something I’d expect you to know about.” she laughed. 

“Since you are asking me of all people for advice, I can’t say I am shocked.” Colton replied as he was the type of person that didn’t even wear makeup for interviews and things. His only knowledge of it came from the bits of pieces of things that he’d learned from women he dated over the years. Even that was limited as he hadn’t paid a lot of attention.  “It is a good option if you aren’t feeling being bold, which seems to be the case here.” Colton said, which he could understand. Some people liked to blend into the crowd. Something that surprised a lot of people - because of his career - was that he himself liked to blend in when he was able to.  “I do what I can.” He joked with a small chuckle.

“The way I see it, if you’re helping you can’t mess it up.” Nia smiled, looking back at the things in front of her. Nia wasn’t a controlling person, nor was she picky about how things were done. Even in her own home, if things were getting done that’s the only thing she really cared about. It was merely an added bonus if it was done the way she would also do it. “I said the same thing when I started unpacking boxes. The amount of things here is crazy. Granted, I’ve never been here for any other holiday like this, but, the last several years I was in New York - really my entire life - I don’t think I’ve ever seen a food drive quite like this one. It’s obvious the people here really care.” The thought of people in a town this size coming together for those in need really made Nia’s heart melt with the generosity and she was so thankful to be able to be a part of something like this. To be participating in something that was such a grand gesture to those that needed it. “I can see why you love this town so much. It’s got all the charm of a Hallmark movie, and the kindness of the most genuine spirit, but it’s not some one horse town where everyone’s related.” she laughed. “I’m thankful that I moved here, and that it allowed me to get the fresh start I needed. I take it Bridgeport is your home town then?” she questioned, putting the final can in the last box and nudging it towards the edge of the table. “I bet your family is proud. As kids we’re almost forced to volunteer, but, for you to want to continue it into adulthood is something to brag about.” With a small smile she motioned towards the box, lifting a bag of fresh fruit that had been placed next to her. “Maybe help me with this box? If you’ll take it to the canned goods section I’ll get some empty boxes and we can start putting meal boxes together.”

“You would think that, but you never know. Last year someone knocked down a bunch of boxes and put people hours behind.” Colton replied as he remembered it had been quite the mess. He was just glad that it hadn’t been him because Colton felt he’d never have lived the shame down on that one. “People in Bridgeport love to take care of their own. Every time we have a major holiday people donate a lot, which means everyone can enjoy their holiday season. This year it seems like people amped it up.” Colton replied as he was glad to just be part of helping out. “I imagine while New York has more people than here, people here have a bigger sense of loyalty.”  He added as he felt there was always more of a sense of community in a small town than there was in a city. It was part of the reason why Colton doubted he’d ever live in a place such as New York. 

“To be fair, there are a lot of people here for are related. A lot of the founding families are still here. Thankfully there are still an influx of new people.” Colton replied as he knew that people seemed to be moving here in the masses now. Which some people think is annoying, but he was able to see why they needed it. “My mother loves to find things to brag about honestly.” He replied as his mother was his biggest supporter these days, which was something he continued to be thankful for. “Okay that sounds like a plan.”

Anni was browsing the make-up area of the local convenience store, something she didn’t do often as she was good at keeping things on backstock at home. But, with a four year old at home, things didn’t always go as planned as Hallie was a curious child and the curiosity had resulted of her playing in her mother’s make up, ruining the tube of lipstick Anni had just opened. While it had been frustrating, she was thankful that there were places like this in town that she could buy things from when she was desperate. What she hadn’t been expecting was the deal on the lipsticks, so while she had the color she needed to replace in her hand already, she couldn’t help but to take part of the deal and stock up on other colors and branch out a little. Bringing the tester swab up to her lips, she looked in the mirror for a second, making a face of uncertainty. She didn’t quite know if this color was the one she needed to select, and she turned around, offering the person next to her a small smile. “Excuse me?” she asked, looking back in the mirror for a moment. “Do you think this color suits me alright?” 

Colton had decided to stop by at the store to pick up a couple of things on his way home. Mostly he was in the mood for some snacks, and this was the closest place to his house so it made sense, even if things might be a little more pricey.  Colton was walking toward the back of the store when he heard Anni begin to speak. He stopped in his tracks and looked at the color in question. “I am not the person to ask honestly. I can’t say I know too much about this stuff.” Colton replied as it wasn’t as though he was an expert when it came to makeup. The man maybe hadn’t paid enough attention to past girlfriends about it as he barely even knew what a lot of the products even knew. “From what I can tell it looks fine though. It doesn’t seem like it is out of place on your face.” Colton added with a small shrug. That was about as helpful as he  was able to be.  

she twisted her features somewhat, a disapproving sigh leaving her. “Well. I guess it could be worse.” it always could be, and one board wasn’t a big deal. “I appreciate you taking the time to look over this.” she’d just have to enlist the help of all those years of yoga and pilates and make it to her front door for a while. “I won’t ask you to replace it. You’ve done more than enough to help and I’m sure you have way more exciting things to do with your time.” and truth was, she could just ask Cal, even though she was trying to avoid it. 

“It could be the support beams, that would be worst because it would cost a lot more and would take a few days to fix because you’d have to tear up this entire side.” Colton replied as he felt that things could be a lot worse. While she’d gotten unlucky that the deck needed fixed at all, she’d gotten lucky with the what. “You could probably get the guy from the hardware store to come over and do it honestly.” Colton told her as it wouldn’t take that long at all. “My mother did that once when something broke when I was away.” 

“Okay, I guess you’re right. I do have some sort of a system.” she laughed, looking at the cans in front of her and allowing herself to separate them by category as well. “When I first started sorting things when I got here, there were multiple tables of canned items, which I understand as that is the biggest product people bring, however, it was a mess as it was all over the room.” she sighed. “So, now, we have it down to those two tables. Vegetables, and then yams or potatoes in general, and then pie fillings. All sorted over that way. Though, I can’t promise it’s still that organized.” she shrugged, moving her hands and scooting cans and boxes down the table to empty. “I don’t know if there’s a sign up sheet anywhere, but, if you want me to be in contact with you once the actual cooking portion starts, I can. I somehow seem to be the one organizing this thing even though I simply just came to volunteer.” she shrugged. Nia wasn’t a fantastic cook herself, but she figured anything was better than nothing at all. “Thankfully for this kind of thing you don’t have to be great! Just as long as it’s edible not many people care.” she laughed. Taking a look at everything around them, she began filling another box as more piled in. “Whatever you want to help with now, though, is great. The amount of boxes that keeping piling in is crazy.” she laughed, a little nervous. As he asked if she was shocked because he was famous she shook her head. “No, no, not at all.” she admitted. “I - honestly didn’t even know you were. I just, I don’t see a lot of men in places like this, especially one’s your age. I know that sounds very judgmental, and I don’t mean to be, but I know when I lived in New York and did this stuff, the only men I ever saw was my husband’s co-workers. So I just, am always shocked but exited to see other men helping out here for things like this.” 

“I will try not to mess it up.” Colton told her as he did not want to be responsible for things not getting done in a timely manner. This sort of thing was too important for him to mess it up. It was best to leave it to Nia as she seemed to know what she was doing. Colton was mostly just here to follow instructions and help out how he could. That is how he had always gone about this stuff ever since he was a kid. “It seems like there is a lot of stuff this year, which is great.” He observed as people seemed to be in a giving mood at least. Colton had always found that people here in Bridgeport were among the nicest people he’d met in his life. Which said a lot as a lot of people he met these days were fans of his music. Those people tended to want to get on his good side whenever they could. “Just tell me where you need me to move the heavy stuff to and I will make sure it gets where it needs to go.” He joked, although that was what he got told to do the last time that he’d been down here. It was a pretty easy job to do, and there were not a lot of men down here to help out.  “This town means a lot to me, it always has. I can’t imagine there is ever going to be a time in my life I am not helping out.” Colton said as while he didn’t always have the time to help out, he often gave money in those cases. That was just how it was always going to be for him. “But you are right, there aren’t a lot of men here. But I have been helping out with this stuff since I was a kid, and it is not a habit that I thought I should grow out of.” 

“I swear, every year people forget how to handle the ice and snow.” Colton replied as he watched people wobbling around on the sidewalk. He had already witnessed a few people slide around and almost fall. “If it’s not slipping while walking it’s sliding on the ice while driving.” He added with a shake of his head. “It’s the same thing every year, but nobody ever seems to remember what they figured out the year before.” 

Although they had never had a formal discussion about the details of their arrangement, Verity hadn’t felt the need to be intimate with anyone else. Not when Colton already ticked all the boxed. “I am all yours.” She told him again, and she wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The blonde exhaled a shivered breath while she slowly began to lower herself down onto his cock. Where: Bookstore

Olivia definitely wasn’t the tallest woman, so as she stood at the bookstore looking up at the book she wanted, she quickly realized that she would have to ask for help. She needed to get certain book that her eldest son had put on his Christmas list, and she wasn’t going to leave the store without it. Thankfully, she happened to see a familiar face nearby. “Colton! I have a favor to ask you,” Liv said, a smile on her face. “Do you think you could please help me grab a book from that shelf up there?” She asked.

Colton had come into the bookstore to pick up a book for his sister for Christmas. He’d decided to start his shopping early this year because he knew things would get hectic the closer he got to Christmas.  He was browsing the aisles when he heard his name and turned to see Olivia. “Yeah sure, I can help you out.” Colton said as he came over and grabbed the book in question and held it out to her. “I’ve never understood why they make shelves tall enough that people can’t reach them. Especially when it is something a kid might want.”
