“Yeah, uh, just trying to decide on something I guess I don’t need to worry about, anymore.” Stiles murmured. “I was going to open the door for you, but I thought you might kick my ass if I did. So I wasn’t sure if I should, but you opened it anyway. So…”
“Oh.” Allison stared at her hand on the door, then looked up at Stiles and smiled at him, pushing it open. “For future reference, I wouldn’t kick your ass for opening it for me.” She offered him her hand, swinging her legs out of the Jeep but staying inside the vehicle. “I just opened the door now because it’s kind of hard to talk through glass.”
“Right.” Stiles looked embarrassed. “Okay, well, I won’t make that mistake again, then.” He held a hand out to her, intending to help her down. “I figure, if we’re gonna do this, you know… I want it to last, so I’m going to try really hard not to fuck everything up.”
Allison smiled at him, taking his hand. She settled the other on his chest, digging her fingers into his shirt a little. “I don’t want to do this halfway. I want it to last, too, so I’m gonna try not to screw things up, either.” She allowed herself to lean forward a little, tilting her chin up so that her lips could touch Stiles’. “I think we could be good together.”
