Had my hair cut today and I worry that my fringe has been cut in such a way that when I tie my hair up it looks like I have a bowl cut

My dad turns 66 today and I can’t think about it for too long or I start pre-grieving like what the fuck in my head he’s still 45

“Boys need to be taught differently to girls they have special requirements” okay well, what if we started holding boys the the same standards we hold girls? What then? What if boys actually faced consequences for rowdy and disruptive behaviour the way girls do? What would happen to those ‘special requirements’ then?

Like so much of supposed ‘masculinity’ is just being in opposition to what is considered ‘feminine’ and, yknow, vice versa but I think it’s more prevalent with boys and men trying to assert their so called masculinity by putting themselves in opposition to women and by being what women aren’t

I’ve talked about this before but I don’t think we can have discussions about why boys are supposedly ‘falling behind’ in education without touching on the fact that, often, doing well in school is considered girly and gay, a lot of young boys have a level of disdain for education because they can see that young girls are taking it seriously and doing well in it and are trying to assert their teenage masculinity by being the opposite

Every recruiter I speak to is like ‘you do 4 days a week in the office????????? Your poor thing they treat you so poorly’ and ngl it’s a little validating like yes I suffer so much
