On one hand, we have Mizi claiming "I did not love her enough"

On the other hand, we have Ivan claiming "He did not love me in the slightest"

And both of them were so wrong

These past few days, I’ve worked tirelessly to decipher this spell. While many questions still remain, I’ve made a crucial discovery; petrification contains a time stop spell.

If my theory is correct, this means that just before Coco’s mother was petrified, her time was stopped. This would have prevented her death, and placing her in stasis within the stone. This would mean that she can be saved.

There’s a fan theory that Derpy & Sussie are the souls of Jinu’s family, but an idea I find more interesting (which is perhaps more in line with the Minhwa iconography they’re inspired by) is that Derpy is actually the soul of the royal that Jinu served.

Kkachi horangi (the genre of Minhwa in which the tiger and the magpie are paired together) is a satirical flipping of feudal hierarchy: royalty/aristocracy is represented by a derpy tiger and the common man is represented by the dignified magpie.

So if they need a backstory as the souls of anybody Jinu knew in life, it would make more sense to me for Derpy to be the king who invited him into his palace (making the fact that he is now relegated to Jinu’s sidekick itself a microcosm of kkachi horangi’s themes), and Sussie to be a commoner—either a member of Jinu’s family or another court artist, such as a Minhwa painter, just to bring it full circle
