Monday night training are my favorite as I am usually learning of one of the best professors. We learn single leg take down while keeping you head inside and shoulder heavy on the leg making the other person sit on their butt and taking them off their base. After that we hit some ground game from side control. When the person underneath hugs you and you able to grab their bicep. Pull the bicep toward you and anchoring your elbow into their belly. As this happen the person at bottom will come towards you and you are able to get their back off mat. At this time your left hand will pressure head as you rotate over him to get arm bar and grab his pants as well on the way back to control his entire body! Crazy how fast and accurate you have to be for this move. I love learning the different ways to set up all this arm bar. After the class I decided to roll and get my self into some trouble. My training partner is getting so good I felt it and is always awesome to see them develop as it gets harder for me to read their next move. But during this roll I was able to choke him bc I kept calm and I was in full mount. I forge the name of the choke but it was amazing to apply it when I usually don't go for submission. As a white belt my goal is to survive all level of rolls. Also learning to escape submission when I can safely without getting injure. But I was stoke how calm I am stating to feel in the pocket. Just need to stay more tight and more close while moving. This is my 5th month doing jiu jitsu and is amazing!
