ed is a classic grunge guy with a touch of early 2000s goth and nu-metal. lots of plaid and ripped jeans, big boots and band/horror themed t-shirts. i like the idea of him wearing tripp pants and skirts on occasion as well.

edd's style is a mix of business casual and practicality. he loves a cargo pant/short and a sensible shoe. i imbued him with my own irl love of quarter zip jackets, which has become kinda my go-to when drawing him. but yeah i really like this style for ed, as its pretty non-descript and muted, unlike the abomination that is his outfit from the show. and yes, he does still wear his hat. maybe when he's a lot older he'd start to experiment wit other hat styles, but for now he's rocking the beanie. though i'm not opposed to the idea of him trying out bandanas as well...

for may ive always imagined her having somewhat of a hodgepodge style; she wears t-shirts promoting old, often long shuttered local businesses or one-off events, various sports teams and clubs she never participated in, etc. she pairs them with very feminine 90s style patterned skirts. she works with what she has, which consists mostly of hand-me-downs and stuff she gets from swap meets. her motto is that if she likes it, she wears it, even if nothing she has on "goes together".

lee has a kitschy mid century modern meets garish 1980s. but yeah when i think of lee i think las vegas wedding chapels in the 50-70s, lots of red and very feminine silhouettes. she's got a sort of john waters "good bad taste" about her.

marie is a little younger in this depiction and is currently in her emo/goth phase. my true imagining of her future style is actually pretty butch adjacent, but she doesn't quite fit into that category because she's not in the business of serving others - she's way too selfish to be a butch lmao. she's very much masc however, and she and eddy could almost share a wardrobe as young adults. she's a jorts and and old t-shirt kinda gal.

sarah is a classic early 2000s girly girl. she loves pink, florals, rhinestones and all things frilly. she's been known to wear jeans under a dress. she's also still pretty young in this depiction (i'd say they're all roughly 17-22 here (aside from bro)), but i imagine her style remaining basically the same as she gets older. she's not ashamed of her enjoyment of all things feminine, nor should she be.

jimmy is mr. fancy pants new romantic/new wave. this style is just perfect for him imo. they've already got the curly pompadour and the melodramatic artist schtick down to a 't'. the gender non-conformity of this era and style is definitely part of what draws them in, aside from the sophisticated but still fun vibe. knowing jimmy, they're probably going around acting as if they're the originator of this style, but eddy- with his inexplicable knowledge of all things art and fashion - clocks him immediately.

jonny! he's not reading as hippie as i'd like in this depiction, but like i said, these are just "prototypes" if you will. his true style is more whimsical hippie stoner who will do anything for a handful of granola. he does indeed still carry plank around, i just couldn't be bothered to draw him cuz i hate plank lowkey...but yeah i think i'll have a lot of fun exploring his style in the future. i'll see if i can come up with a new look for plank too🤔

ohhh kelvin...he's really just a jock boy to me- at least in terms of his style. i guess in reality he is a skater and a bmx-er so he probably would have a little bit of "edge" to his style, but something about the clean-ish cut 90s jock aesthetic beckoned me. his hair was inspired by sam winchester cuz i'm currently watching supernatural LMAO but cmon, its kind of fitting.

snazzy nazz is a delia*s girl through and through. i don't know that i'd ever change her style, at least not until she was significantly older. she's a raver girl who loves color and funky designs and groovy motifs. when she's older i could see her dressing like lady miss kier. she's definitely toned down in this depiction but glamour girls need their rest too.

rolf dresses like an eccentric european man whose little village is stuck in the 1970s. he almost comes off as hipster, but it's 100% not intentional on his part, he just looks like that. i actually really like this style cuz i love 70s fashion and the color palette is right up my alley. it's just off-beat and ornate enough that it works for rolf without coming off as too try-hard lmao.
