ive been enamored by divine since i was a fat queer misfit freak teenager. her kitschy campy "good-bad-taste" style tickled a part of my brain and left me forever tainted in the best possible way. i saw so much of myself in her, despite our lives being worlds and decades apart. i never had much of a mom but in my gay little fantasy world, harris glenn milstead aka divine is my disgustingly glamorous mother. rest in power queen. please accept my insane and strange homage to you.

someone in an interview described divine as a "gregarious, pink piece of flesh" and i mean...come on. i'm far from the first person to draw comparisons between divine and eddy's unavoidable future as a drag performer, but i'm happy to finally draw something to show my appreciation and love for both, however rudimentary it might be. happy pride!! 🌈
