if there ever was a poly hornets-ish ending to the au, ie, like Brian is a still ghost and everything is similar to the live leak ending but instead, they are so trauma bonded together, they can't really find anyone else to bond with, Tim wants to leave but his instincts tell him that he should also stay because he is a pack animal by nature and Brian is a haze technically, nothing physical and that hurts something inside of him. I'm talking like, they all understand each other's pain to a level that even if they found someone sentimental enough like Amy they would never understand the pain that they all had to go through and so they just stick together in this really unhealthy but somewhat healing dynamic.
Everyone is at odds with each other in some way or another but they also sympathize with each other in some way, Brians only reason for staying is because even if he eventually believed Alex was safe enough to be around the other 2 he would still have that nagging feeling of being afraid of what might happen if he did leave and so much other stuff.
Alex and Tim would have weird but deep conversations over why out of so many other people in this world, that they were the ones chosen by the operator, what he might be and what they might be doing for him in exchange for all of this agony.
Jay is living semi happily except for his changes, as he is obviously in a lot of pain, Tim and Masky team up to comfort him but ultimately it ends up with Alex being the one to take care of him because he knows this process more intimately.
Eventually they chill the fuck out and learn to live with each other with some romantic undertones but they all just kinda have that dynamic where they don't seem outwardly affectionate towards each other but they have their ways in expressing it.
Can you imagine the shit that they could get up to when they are not being victorian levels depressed?
"Have you ever wondered if we could like, idk see how much venom you can crank out in one bite? I mean a standard snake can get out maybe a milligram or something. idk"
"I mean I did try the flesh the other day so I feel like it might be fair to hear jay out"
"Tim, this is the same level of asking whether they should test that you have the same muscle and bone structure of a regular wolf or if there's something different"
meanwhile a computer reads: 'Do it you coward, how much weird vamp juice did you pump into me?'
cue Alex awkwardly holding a glass against his tusks and them finding out that he can crank out a lot of venom and most of them just silently stare like what the fuck?????
