The dress! Pictured here with the lads from the honey hut. I'm going to be honest with you, that skirt took over my life and my apartment for a good few weeks there, but it turned out beautifully, so I am not going to complain. I don't have the reference picture on my phone so I can't do a side by side thing, but I know it's not that far away on my blog if you need a reminder of how cool this thing turned out to be. ;) I'm really proud of it. People stopped me just to ask about it.

So look forward to some new creations! Starting with a picture of my Imperial dress in action, because that baby was a huge accomplishment.

April I've been nonexistent on this blog because of this. I'm making a late sixteenth century Imperial dress for the festival (as mentioned in previous posts), and I've been doing the sewing for it. I based the design heavily on the first picture, the extra trim and skirt will be made to look like that dress. I'll probably try to get the hat to mimic the painting too, though those sleeves look like a capital P Project on their own. Since I couldn't see the front and trying to create a pattern that looks like the front of the dress in the background was inconceivable (fabric didn't stretch then and I can't see a closure anywhere), I took a style found in many many paintings of the time. The decorative bust band thing and white with black lacing stomach piece. I did a lot of searching through paintings to decide how best to engineer that, but I finally did it. Of course, I also had to make the pattern before cutting the Real Fabric. I used an old bodice from two years ago, created the pattern on scrap fabric, and started adjusting. I won't go into all the steps since I don't have pictures for all of them, but at one point I had five pins left on my tomato. It was looking very bare. But I did it! And I'm going to adjust it a bit before calling it done, plus I need to add another line of trim, but the difficult construction part is done. Yay!

I've been doing little things this week, but today I finished my gaming bag and I'm going to post pictures tomorrow because it's AMAZING.

I baked cupcakes, made ganache, and made frosting for tomorrow. (Bit off way more than I could chew with the ganache, but oh well, it seems to be fine?) Only tomorrow will tell as I attempt to fill the cupcakes with the ganache, frost them, and then serve them to my friends. It's a recipe for boozy Mudslide cupcakes, btw. I'm very excited because the kaluha frosting was delicious when I did a very important taste test earlier...

I did my taxes! That was enough of a creation for today.

I made plans and designs for a friend for a Tudor style dress because I am a WONDERFUL influence.

Sometimes you lose your phone for a week and can't post things because your computer also conveniently had problems... At least I have my phone again. In other news! I started sewing a new bag to hold all my gaming stuff! It's really awesome and I'll get pictures for it tomorrow!

I made a list of potential historical women I could base my court character off of for the Courtly Dance Troupe I'm practicing with. I think I've mentioned this before... I've decided to go German/Imperial. I've got about ten names that I should wait to narrow down until I know what year we're saying it is.

Leap day! My preschoolers and I were sitting and drawing together and one of them wanted me to draw my mom. I did my best from memory, and maybe it's like her, but mostly it's the things I remember about her from before the cancer really took hold. I might post it sometime, but I'm not quite ready to.

Umm... I created super sore muscles because I danced for about four hours. It was fun and I learned more dances! But my legs didn't like me Monday.

Hey today I made these pillowcases!I really should have washed the fabric first... those wrinkles will be no more once I do wash them though! And they were really very easy. Only one hem and two seams!

Today I finished my Miraculous Ladybug story. And started thinking of more. ^^

I sketched a bit today. My preschoolers were playing superheroes and they always inspire me to draw them as small cartoons... If only I could. So I practiced today! I also made maps for two campaigns. One I am currently running and the other I'm still planning.

I built shelves! Well, I assembled them. And then hung them on the wall and rearranged part of my room, breaking a bookshelf in the process. But hey! A more organized room was created!

I was so exhausted by the time I got home I laid down with my notebook beside me and fell asleep before I could open it.

I was extra productive today. I made a picture puzzle at work for my preschoolers, wrote a little (not nearly enough, but I had Agent Carter to watch), and made some knock-off stroganoff for dinner. Go me!
