Sun peaked through the sliver of the blackout curtains in Dante's room. You woke with a groan at the offending sunlight while snores from your partner rattled your eardrums. Dante had been home for a few days now and the comfort of his body next to yours was something you really missed while he was gone. But now as he held you tightly against himself a little drool trailing from the corner of his mouth you had to keep yourself from laughing. Despite his constrictor like grip you were able to look at the time. The clock blinked noon and you groaned. Leave it to Dante to sleep so late and drag you down with him. Struggling from him you shook him gently.
"Wake up," you whispered in Dante's ear before nibbling on his earlobe. No response except snores. Shaking him harder you tried again, but more snores. Pinching his stubbled cheeks and pulling your reward was another snore just in another wobbly octave. You snorted giggling at the sound and how he could sleep so soundly while you played with his face. Now you were moving his cheeks and lips trying to see what all sounds you could make like a weird symphony. After having your fun you knew that Dante wasn't going to wake up no matter what annoying thing you did to him and his face. Your only option now was one of the top things Dante loved...food. Food was your ticket to waking the half devil from his slumber.
Wiggling your way further out of the tangle of his well chisled arms you picked your way through clothes finding yours admist the heap on the floor. Promising to do laundry later you continued down the stairs to the next stage of your mission. Mission one of the day was make breakfast and awake the snoozing devil hunter. Tying your hair up, you got to work. By the time the bacon was halfway done cooking and you started cracking eggs the stairs began to creak. You turned to see your handsome devil leaning in the doorway, hair mussed, shirtless, and pajama pants hanging dangerously low on his hips.
"Hello sleeping beauty," you hummed kissing his stubbled cheeks as you put the egg carton back in the fridge. Dante grabbed you as you passed once more bringing you into his arms. He kissed you several times while yawning.
"Dante! The food is gonna burn."
"Forget breakfast I rather eat you up," Dante purred nibbling up your neck to your ear.
"I can be dessert later cause I'm hungry."
Dante relented releasing you to go back to cooking. "Make yourself useful son of Sparda and chop some veggies for the omelets."
The sound of sizzling food and Dante working a knife echoed through the kitchen while you snuck peeks at the silver haired man. Everything was peaceful when you looked away and then Dante yelped cursing up a storm.
"What happened," you asked rushing to his side as his cut finger poured blood.
"I can see that Dante," you tugged him to the sink holding his wound under the water. "Jeez you can filet demons like nobodies business but you can't cut veggies worth a crap."
"This is why I don't cook," he grumbled taking his hand from the water. "All better."
He showed you his healed finger but you still gave the digit a healing kiss.
"I'll finish up here. No sense in having the Dante breakfast special, blood laced omelets."
He pouted, "Can I at least watch?"
There Dante sat watching you finish up breakfast his blue eyes trained on your feminine form. He wondered to himself how he got so lucky. When you plated everything and brought Dante his he rewarded you with a big kiss.
"Thanks babe. Everything looks delicious," he said shoveling the food into his face.
"You're welcome and you can have everything left on the stove."
You smiled watching him eat. You were happy to have these moments with Dante. He was gone majority of the time so any time spent with him you looked as a blessing. He was your everything and you had the sneaking suspicion that you were everything to him too.
