                one    thing    she    didn't    understand    was    arrogant    players    like    the    very    one    that    she    has    to    serve.    they    have    everything    handed    to    them    and    expects    more    ;    probably    the    rudest    people    she's    ever    met.    while    the    rest    of    the    guys    seem    to    settle    down,    relax    after    the    game    that    they've    just    won    he    wasn't.    he    was    restless,    bothering    her    every    shot    that    he    got.    as    much    as    she    hate    to    admit    it,    he    was    getting    under    her    skin.    hues    soaks    up    the    empty    glass,    deep    sigh    falling    from    her    lips.    "    didn't    expect    you    to    down    that    so    .    .    .    rapidly,    though    it    was    more    of    a    sipper.    "    typically,    she    would    ignore    smart    comments,    but    it    was    already    late;    he    had    to    understand    that    she    just    wanted    a    peaceful    flight.    no    matter    how    attractive    he    was,    she    wasn't    going    to    let    those    remarks    slide.    "    no,    i    was    actually    hoping    you'd    go    to    sleep.    might    i    suggest    melatonin    instead    of    more    whiskey,    "    lips    curves    upwards    into    a    tight    smile    ;    snatching    the    glass    from    his    hand    before    getting    the    refill    he    so    desires.    once    she    returns,    she    plasters    her    sweetest    smile    she    could,    "    anything    else    you'd    like    ?    "

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤamusement    flares    behind    his    eyes,    a    soft    raspy    chuckle    escaping    his    throat    as    she    snaps    the    glass    right    out    of    his    hand    and    returns    with    a    refilled    one.    oh,    she’s    definitely    got    some    bite    to    her.    it’s    unfamiliar    and    amusing    all    alike.    he    leans    back.    most    people    trip    over    themselves    to    be    nice    to    him,    but    she’s    treating    him    like    an    absolute    menace.    it’s    the    most    entertaining    thing    that’s    happened    all    flight.    shit,    all    year.    ❝    melatonin    doesn't    really    do    it    for    me,    sweetheart,    ❞    he    says,    a    lazy,    arrogant    edge    bleeding    into    his    timbre.    ❝    but    since    you're    so    worried    about    my    sleep    schedule    ...    why    don't    you    help    me    tire    myself    out    ?    ❞    the    attempt    to    suppress    his    smirk    fails    —    that    ought    to    do    it.    snappy    as    she    was,    who    could    refuse    that    offer    ?    he    swirls    the    amber    liquid.    ❝    come    on.    a    pretty    little    thing    like    you    spending    the    rest    of    the    flight    hidden    away    in    the    galley    ?    seems    like    a    waste.    we    could    find    a    much    better    way    to    pass    the    time    in    the    back.    what    do    you    say    ?    ❞
