They shared a bed. Simon knew they could make another and he’d have his very own comfort to lay in and sleep in. If they didn’t that, though, Simon couldn’t have this.

He laid on his left side. It was much easier to sleep this way because Simon could wrap his arm around Grace and pull him in close without limits of his arm going numb. There were some nights when it made the place where he’d lost his arm tingled and shocks of pain flared from the healed scar up his neck, but he did his best to hide. If it caused pain, Simon would endure it. He didn’t care how much he endured before.

Grace smelled like Earth. Like dirt and trees and things he only heard about and seen on a screen but definitively Earth because Grace explained it to him.

Simon hummed and nuzzled closer to the nape of Grace’s neck, arm wrapping tighter around the sleeping man as he breathed in deep. Grace only responded by shifting slightly in his sleep.
