!!! early konoha my beloved !!! I have so many thoughts ab it, I want to write a fic that's just silly early Konoha things viewed from the perspective of the less important clan members and their everyday lives. I'm aware the audience for that is incredibly small but I have too much fun just thinking ab it to really care!

Ichigo remains the only naruto oc Ive ever actually written for (in one step three steps), tho Haruka has been mentioned in multiple fics of mine now just bc she fills the role of Tobirama + Hashirama's blood aunt that I needed to be filled in my "Kakashi interacts with Tobirama w the knowledge that they are directly related" fics, of which there are now multiple

but yeah, take some silly art and lore comics !! I had fun while making these and will now probably put all these ocs on a shelf where I will not touch them for some more months

If you are experiencing extreme emotions for what seems like no good reason, especially if you get your period and those extreme emotions just go away. You're probably not just PMSing , you may have PMS's feral big sister PMDD and it's treatable.

Its because he was trying to recreate a "Hanged Ghost" look? Because his mother apparently ended her life that way? ......i....do not get this either because i googled Chinese Hanged Ghost n just got scared 😅

I think he was going for a more geisha inspired look (since he's a "cut-sleeve")

So I'm pretty certain it's supposed to be like makeup a woman of the time would wear, but like too thick and poorly applied (like, a bad drag queen maybe???) Because he's also locked in a room and a little Traumatised and has no good mirror or good makeup.

Because being thrown out of his supposed "family", back stabbed by a "loved" brother, losing his mother by suicide (apparently what he did to JGY was shameful enough for her to lose her mind n ended her life 😓😓😔😔), and being bullied daily by his own family, n prolly blaming himself on everything...those cant be good for his mental health

Apparently he wears makeup cuz his mother loved makeup, the fact that he is a cut-sleeve prolly added to this, since MXY is pretty, a dainty n feminine beauty...like a feminine ver of WWX...rite?

I think it's more likely that Mo XuanYu wanted to ensure he came back as a demonic being. There's an old Chinese superstition that the more you look like a demon at the time of your death, especially if you died violently with hate, the more likely you would become a demon after death (from what I know this version of it is no longer believed, but there's a similar superstition today in which committing suicide while wearing red will cause you to return as a vengeful spirit). Hanged ghosts in Chinese culture are typically white-faced with bulging red eyes and a tongue hanging out, so maybe Mo XuanYu took the rogue and smeared it over his eyes to look like that so he appeared more demonic so he'd look scarier when Wei Ying avenged him though the ritual. I mean he was at the height of insanity and was literally killing himself, poor guy.

A "Geisha-inspired" look is not really possible. For one thing, Geisha are specifically Japanese. The closest Chinese equivalent to Geisha would be high-level courtesans/prostitutes, but unlike the Japanese this makeup style wasn't really part of the job. (Also the Geisha were never considered prostitutes. They did have sex with their clients on their own terms sometimes, but it wasn't technically a part of this profession. Those would be the Oiran, who dress somewhat similarly to Geisha.) The Chinese did use similar dramatic makeup in those epic stage performances such as that of the Beijing Opera we see today, but MDZS doesn't seem to have those and also I'm not sure if the timeline works with that. I also don't think Mo XuanYu would wear the makeup to avoid more harassment, even if it was meant to make him uglier, because while there were times in history that men wearing makeup was favourable and even encouraged by the Chinese society, rogue specifically was kinda a woman-only thing, made primarily as blushes and lip colour so Mo XuanYu using that probably wouldn't do him any favours and probably made him seem More Gay(tm). There's even a small scene (at least in the manhua, can't remember if the novel had it) where Wei Ying buys rogue for himself (Rip Lan Zhan's money) and the vendor was like "bruh wtf", so I think it's safe to say that at least using rogue was frowned upon in MDZS canon.

I'm certain he's wearing makeup, in the book, in the way women normally would. I think it's a character informing thing. He's gay, he's mad, he misses his mum; He wears make up. It's badly applied and haphazard because he lives in a locked box.

It isn't supposed to be considered normal. It's specifically why people avoid Wei Wuxian. Not because he looks spooky scary, but scary in the "oh he dresses weird and is mayhaps a deviant/insane".

I would guess the donghua changed it for the superstition you talked about (which I didn't know), perhaps to avoid the Implications of wearing women's makeup.

I ship Ace with Sanji because even though they only had a short time together there was an obvious and instant connection. Both of them spent most of their lives tragically unloved and unappreciated. Even though they both eventually found their true families I still think they deserve more. I love the idea of the happiness they could bring eachother and wish they had a chance to find it.
