i found myself imagining the what if of two people who never will and, i cannot express this part enough, never need to.

and that's not necessarily a problem, but it did make me question why i rarely do the opposite. i don't have headcanons about my favorite romantic couples having a queer platonic relationship, so why would i imagine this perfect pair changing what makes them special and being like all the rest.

and i realized that's something seen a lot in fandom. the characters already have a unique and unbreakable bond, yet if they never kiss, people will say something was missing. but why?
