Every morning, I wake up wishing everything we have been through was only a nightmare, but their faces and laughter now exist only in my memories. Today, my family depends entirely on donations to survive. For a while, we relied on the meals provided by World Central Kitchen, but after threats and restrictions imposed by the Israeli occupation, the kitchen was forced to stop operating, and we lost even that simple source of food

I, too, live here, inside a tattered tent that offers no protection whatsoever. During the day, this piece of cloth doesn't shield us from the scorching sun that burns our skin. At night, it doesn't protect us from the cold, and worse still... it doesn't protect us from bullets or shrapnel. At any moment, I could be in that child's place. And the world will simply ignore my name as they go about their daily lives and football matches.
