Steddie strangers to enemies to lovers where they happen to meet by chance frequently when they're grocery shopping.
They notice each other for the first time when both reach out at the same time for the last box of cereal.
They laugh it off, argue a little, both insisting the other take the box until Steve finally wins and forces Eddie into getting the cereal.
But then they meet again the following week, this time both wanting the same jar of mayo.
Then it's about beer. Then pancake mix, then freaking lettuce. Somewhere along the way, there are no friendly arguments anymore and they start to get pissed off at each other for real.
"You're doing this on purpose," Steve accuses one day, when he finds himself once again arguing over toilet paper of all things. "There's no fucking way. You're stalking me and trying to get my stuff just to piss me off."
"Oh yeah, because I really have nothing better to do with my life than stalking some random guy who buys three boxes of Boppers every fucking week," Eddie sneers.
steve 100% needs glasses yet doesn’t wear them. eddie is constantly trailing behind his boyfriend, his glasses in hand, trying desperately to get him to keep them on.
“babe. sweetheart. light of my life, please just put them on—“
steve holds a hand up to eddie’s face to dismiss his begging, still staring up at the ice cream shop menu. he’s definitely making a face that only a man who cannot see for the life of him would make.
“i don’t need them. i’m reading just fine.”
“i’m looking at your squinted eyes right now.”
“the air is… there’s cold air coming out of the window, it’s dry.”
eddie hangs his head in defeat before stepping up behind steve.
“if you struggle you’ll make a scene.”
“what—“
steve’s eyes widen as eddie suddenly straps a strong arm over his chest from behind, holding him still as he pushes the wire frames onto his face. steve wiggles in the grip in protest, looking around them to see a few other customers standing about. he calms down when he ultimately realizes that eddie is right.
“you’re so lucky we’re in public, munson, you know that?”
eddie lets him go. “but you can see now, can’t you?”

steve has definitely caught eddie in the pantry in the middle of the night. like, hearing rustling that freaks him out so he grabs his phone and turns the flashlight on for help guiding himself to the sounds. and he rounds the corner to find eddie. just standing there in the dark, probably shoveling crackers of some sort into his mouth, eyes glowing in the brightness of steve’s flashlight once it’s shone on him. and of course it freaks steve the fuck out and he has to actively stop himself from shouting in surprise, just staring at his cryptid boyfriend who’s now completely frozen in place.
“hi.”
“hey…”
eddie eventually tucks the bag of crackers back into their box, folding the top shut using the little close tab. somehow well-mannered even though he’s been caught acting like a complete raccoon.
“were you… are you good?”
“yeah. was hungry. woke me up.”
“right. you done?”
“uh…” eddie looks down at the box in his hands before slowly deciding to set it back on its designated shelf. “yeah.”
the munson trailer living room/kitchen, my beloved <3
i KNOW that naps on that couch slap and that heated up canned food made in that kitchen tastes like heaven (the food is made by wayne, eddie cant cook. not even food from a can)
i also can exactly picture eddie sitting at that chair talking on the phone for HOURS, to the point where wayne has to throw a slipper at him from his spot on the couch to get him to hang up
