Real talk it is crazy that "could get hit by a car" isn't a good enough reason for people to keep their cats inside. Nobody will give a shit if you try to convince them that their one small animal truly is a danger to their local ecosystem no matter how much cold hard data you present. But it's absolutely incomprehensible to me that "your cat could get attacked by a coyote" isn't enough. Your cat could get carried away by a hawk. Your cat could get stolen by someone else. You could trust your cat to be smart enough to reprogram your malfunctioning life support machine and that doesn't make them suddenly capable of avoiding outside forces much much bigger than themselves
